Different Type Of Windsor Hills Question

Is there any way to know if a particular owner is experiencing problems with a property in Windsor Hills to the point where they may lose their property?

I paid a deposit on a great deal and now I notice the owners website is down, and there is no replies from email or voicemail.

I am trying not to be paranoid, but with this economy, anything is possible.

Maybe it is just a minor issue - let's hope!:thumbsup2
 
The way I found out about a place I was looking at (and thankfully was still in the looking stage) was by reading the comments left from previous renters and how hard it was to get the deposits back, due to the owners being in foreclosure.

The owners I've gone through for our next trip have always responded to my questions usually within a few hours.

I don't know if there is a way to check, though. How long has it been since you've contacted them with no answer?

I hope it's nothing and they are just busy. :goodvibes

ETA: Can you stop payment on the check?
 
I've tried contacting them for the last few days via email and telephone. There hasn't been a reply in a few days, but they responded very quickly prior to the deposit. It just seems like all the coincidences are piling up - no website anymore, no email, no telephone returns, and a "too good to be true" deal LOL

I'm hoping against all odds that it is just that - coincidence.

I did real several reviews posted on their site, that were all favourable, and their cancellation policy was good - but useless if you can't reach them, I guess.

If it all goes bad, I did pay via Visa through PayPal on their site, so I hope I can get the money back. The main problem now is do I book another place or wait for a reply? LOL

This is our second time in Windsor Hills. The first time, in 2006, was in a townhome and it was full of ants- even in the dishwasher! The owners never returned a call about the problem and Villa Direct told us to get a can of Raid! There were other minor problems that never got resolved and no communication from the owner at all. Now we have this "problem" (if it realy is a problem).

I guess time will tell, but if I don't hear anything in a couple of days, I will have to rebook somewhere else and deal with this later.
 
The problem isn't windsor hills, because it's the best place to be, but the good news for you might be that that the owner we rented from in Windsor Hills is buying up these foreclosure homes and then adding them to their renting roster, so you might actually be better off, getting a better owner in the process! Good luck with it, you will love Windsor Hills. The deals that look "too good to be true" are actually true right now because rates even at Windsor hills are great in this economy. Wish I was going this spring!! hope to get back this summer.

We love Windsor Hills, the property, but we've just had a couple of bad experiences with owners - one confirmed and one possible.

Who did you rent from?
 
i hope you hear from them soon, it doesnt sound very good as of now. With my experience from paypal, hopefully you didnt pay the whole balance. My husband was scammed one time for a $500 purchase which he never received, seller wouldnt answer e-mails and maybe did one time saying he would send it out and never did never heard back from them again and then they became an unregistered user.
paypal would only give him $200 back which i thought was very crummy.
 
I actually received an email today, so it seems like everything is OK. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. LOL

It was a bit nerve wracking for a few days while we waited for a resopnse, but hopefully this will be the only snag in the road.

Villa Direct told me the same thing about Roaches. I will NEVER rent from them again. They have zero customer service.

I work in real estate, so here's something I tried....check the Osceola County Clerk of Court: http://www.osceolaclerk.com/LandRecordsResearch.htm and click "land records"..go through the next few links and you should be able to come in a page where you can enter the owner's name and search. You can see the deeds and mortgages (deeds of trust) of the properties. When looking for foreclosures, you want to look for "substitute trustees" which are usually a first step in the foreclosure process.
