Been fortunate to visit WDW during new attractions opening past few years. We are returning to WDW during mid-August. Is there anything new to do during this time?

I like to make my trips slightly different. Each one has a different memory.

If there's nothing new, is there other things to do to make the trip different?

When was the last time you were here?
New things are the projection show at DHS Wonderful World of Animation, the new Rivers of Light at AK, not sure if you've seen the Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix concert at Epcot( plays until August 18th), new Lightning McQueen Racing Academy at DHS, not sure if you've seen the new Move it, Shake it, Mousekedance it show at MK
Other things you can do is add a trip to minigolf courses, maybe rent a pontoon boat, rent some bikes at Fort Wilderness and spend an afternoon there

Mickey’s Birthday celebration continues through September in MK.

You can meet Mickey with Minnie in Town Square Theater where they are wearing their special Birthday costumes.

Rare characters meet near the MK flagpole area on a daily basis.

Don't forget Fantasia Gardens in the evening after the sun goes down. Either before or afterwards you can walk the boardwalk and enjoy all it has to offer. Combined the two activities can fill an evening that you don't plan to be at a park.

If everyone in your party is 14 or older Lunch with An Imagineer is a wonderful experience.

There is a fair chance that the skyliner will be running by then. The new Rivers of Light show will be running by mid August as well. There are Halloween Parties starting in mid August, and there is a Villains After Hours event on August 8th, not sure if you will be there then or not.

Also, if you have a car, a day off Disney property can be quite a bit of fun. There are many gift shops with some really good prices, there is the Character Warehouse which has amazing prices on Disney Parks merchandise. There are a number of mini golf locations with some really fun themes, Old Town has car cruises every week, plus shops, and restaurants. There are hundreds of places to eat. Celebration is a pretty cool place to spend an afternoon. If you haven't been to Disney Springs (Downtown Disney) recently, it has changed quite a bit, and might be worth spending a few hours there.

We were last there, August 2018 so we have experience the new rides. In past years, we have done the following:
  • MNSSHP (Plan on doing it again)
  • Dessert Party @ MK & DHS
  • Boat cruise w/ Peter Pan & Captain Hook
  • Pirate Cruise (Now too old)
  • Firework Cruise
  • Roasting Marshmallows @ Resort
  • Bike on Boardwalk
  • Free thing @ Disney Springs
  • Miniature Golf @ both places

  • Going too early for Food & Wine.
  • Two in the group too young for imagineer dinning or some tours.
  • Thinking of small water craft rental but two will 12 and 13 (can there ride) Is it available @ YC?

Trying to think of something different. Thanks.

We do mini golf almost every time we are there. It might be the same courses, but it's a unique experience every time we are there.
Are any of the kiddos girls? It might be fun to get a manicure and/or pedicure with them. Then they can have fun Disney nails while they are there. There is a spa at the YC/BC and also over at the Swan and Dolphin (if you are staying in that area). Otherwise the Grand Floridian and Saratoga Springs have spas too.
Over at DS is a place called the Void. I'm not sure what the age restrictions are though. It might be fun to check out though.
Check out Amorette's Patisserie for their cake decorating experience.

Have a great trip!
