Different rate over phone than on website

I've been doing the yearly debate on which resort we would stay at for Christmas and we finally decided that our budget just wasn't going to stretch far enough for a deluxe so we decided on CSR, our favorite moderate. I got the rate off the website then called to make the reservation -- I don't like doing it on line. The person on the phone quoted me almost three hundred dollars more than the website. When I told her the website was cheaper she said she couldn't find it. I said I was pulling it up again and would book online and guess what -- SHE FOUND IT.

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

No that's what got me a little frustrated. She was quoting the exact same thing as I had on the website. She also said that the only standard view rooms were the ones in the very back of the resort -- the rancho section only. I have stayed at CSR so many times in standard view rooms and only once have I been in the rancho section. Oh well. I got my reservation in a resort that we can afford at this time. We will be in WDW for Christmas and that is all that matters. I don't care if we are in Ranchos or Casita's.

It's always been the same.

IF the quotes are different then it means that the options you picked are not identical (preferred room location, hoppers, WPF&M, insurance, ...)

I agree with a PP. It is sometimes hard to have both you and the CM on the same page when discussing reservations. There are just so many different variables involved- discounts vs rack rate, age of each guest, exact dates, types of ticket media and number of days, dining plan, insurance, room category. If only ONE of these variables differs between you it could mean the difference of several hundred dollars.

I always cut them a little slack, since they're not mind readers, nor are they infallible. You just need to be patient and continue to go over everything until you are both in agreement over the components of your package.

But it wasn't a package. It was a room only, standard view, with AP discount. And she managed to get it after I said I would book it on-line. That's the part that bothered me.

Just happened the other day. We had a CR - Bay Lake View booked with the AP discount and I wanted to upgrade our reservation to club level with the same AP discount. Here's the problem - I just said that we wanted to upgrade to club level and keep the same view. I think she was looking for the words "Bay Lake View" and, therefore, missed the option for the Atrium Club - Standard or however they describe it.

I just held on and waited for her to locate it. I told her it was right there on the website and she worked it out. But I agree it can be confusing!
