Different Credit Card for Hotel Room and Magic Band?

I'd like to use a different credit card for the room and all other Disney charges. How do I accomplish that if I'm using magic bands?

Do you mean paying for the room? If that is the case pay for the room before you arrive (which you have to do for packages anyways) and then the card you put on file for incidentals (the magic band and any other room charges) would be the different card. If you mean for incidents and Mb card then the answer is no as that card is 1 and the same.

I've already booked the rooms with deposit on the card I'd like the full hotel bill to charge to, and I'd like incidentals/attractions/etc. on another. I can't do a package because I have the Citi Prestige 4th night free deal (twice on this trip), but my JPM Reverve offers 3X Ultimate Rewards points for travel charges, so it would be better to pay for everything else with that.

Are you suggesting that when I check in I just ask them to right then charge the room charges and then provide another card for everything else? That would be great in my book.

Well if it is a room only you can pay it off the day, week or months before or when you check in and then leave a different card for incidentals. If you are doing the online check in put in the card you want for incidentals and just call and pay off you room portion in advance.

With room only you can still prepay. So you can call and pay before you arrive and then when you check in out a completely different card down for incidentals or when you check in pay in full (that's how they do it anyways you pay in full at check in) and then designate a different card for charges. Not hard at all and I've done it many times.

With room only reservation, your balance is due at check-in. Pay for the balance of the room charge, then ask them to put a separate card on your account for charging privileges with your magic band.

Great. If I am doing two reservations back to back (4 days at Boardwalk and 4 days at Poly), would I just keep it on the preferred travel spend card and then present the Citi at the second resort and pay the balance at check in and ask them to confirm that the magic band will stay with the preferred card? If you're doing online check-in, can you put the card you want the hotel to be billed to on and then just call and have them take the payment in full and then update the card to what you want for incidentals? Thanks!

Just call the reservation line and pay for both your hotel charges in advance using the card you want. Then the card on your MDE will automatically be the one tied to your magicband. That is the easiest solution.

This is probably off-topic, but can I do that now 55 days early, and if so and I have to cancel (say if someone gets very sick or such), am I sunk? I would imagine that the terms of the stay are what the are, and that they would pay me back for what I'd lose if I cancelled before arriving.

As long as you cancel within the policy you will be refunded
