Different arrival dates and request

DH & I have reservations for 11/13-24. DD & family also have the same reservations and we have requested connecting rooms. We have always been fortunate to get this. Okay, now DD & family will not arrive until 11/14 and they don't want to pay for the 13th. Do you think this will block any chance of getting connecting rooms. Would calling and explaining help or can I even do this?

I think that would definitely limit your chances of getting the request, though I don't think it's impossible. Disney would have to block that room off on the 13th (unless they get somebody for a 1 night stay), and from a business perspective, it doesn't make sense for them to do that. Disney can't guarantee connecting rooms even for the same dates, so I think it's not very likely that they'd agree to this.

You can always hope that nobody is put in that room and wish for the best.

I would make sure your 2 reservations are linked.

Also, when you check in bring up the situation to the CM that's checking you in. If it's important to you, you may have to switch rooms after your first night in order to get connecting rooms.

It does not block the chance but certainly narrows it. The resort can't be expected to put a block on the second room. This is a busy time at the resorts.

If you're willing to move on the 14th it will likely increase your chances if they can't locate a connecting room next to someone who is checking out on the 14th.

It would not make any sense to call ahead of time. Explain it when you check in. If it is very important to you, and they can't swing it, tell them you would move rooms the next day if it would help.
