Hi, we're planning a trip to Orlando in a couple weeks and are thinking of getting the $85 tix. We've never been there and depending if the kids like the parks, we're debating on getting APs (3 adults/1kid). I read on another link that we can upgrade to APs once we get there, but can we get one Preferred and the rest as the 2 park power pass? That way we'd get free parking.

Also, I thought I saw that you could buy an annual pass and get 3 extra months...anyone see this? I've seen some references to a Bealls deal - is that expired?

Thanks-

Yes, that is a good way to do it. Just watch for the blackout dates for the power passes.

I don't think there are any deals on the passes that are current right now.

the 3 month ap is a cosco deal. it has black out dates i believe.

the preferred annual pass, aph, is valid for parking.

if you buy the $85, 2 park, 7 day special promo, you can upgrade it for the ap. you pay the difference. even if you used days on the 7 day ticket, all that you paid for it will go towards the ap.

i did the bealls promo last year but it is not available now.

You can do this with no problem. I would try to make up your mind the first day (mostly parking costs for the rest of the trip) or if your spending several days it might be worth doing a single upgrade to the preferred just for the discounts. The power pass does have black out dates but there are not very many of them. The preferred pass has a renewal rate of $99 which I believe is the same renewal rate for the power pass. The Bealls deal was from last summer and expired around August I believe. The 3 free months was from Christmas and is also expired. I do not know of any current deals on annual passes.

Ok....I'm not crazy...AAA has the 3 month extension on the 2 park annual passes for $104.95. Here's the info from their site....

i just went to the ap site and copied this for the perks for the
power pass:

You can enjoy one (1) year of park-to-park admission to both Universal Studios Florida & Islands of Adventure with limited blackout dates for the regular price of $119.95 plus tax, or for less than $11 a month using the Flexible Payment Option.

NOTE: Free self parking and other discounts are NOT included.

no parking perk on the power pass
discounts not included for some things. ie: hotel discounts is one i know of

hrh

if you are interested in the costs (save $15.), the one from AAA looks cheaper and longer

if you plan on more than one trip a year, for the extra money, the pass looks wiser for you.

if you want to save money and only making one trip this year, go the promo 7 day pass.

if you want discounts for hotels, food, merch and free parking and no black out dates, buy the preferred annual pass

only buy one for one adult and the rest of the family the power pass.
that way, you get the perks.
