difference in cars? Alamo

What is the difference, really, in size between a compact and mid-size with Alamo? They list a Nissan Versa as a compact and a Toyota Corolla (or similar) as a midsize...doesn't look like there is all that much difference in size. There are 3 of us, and there is a $20 difference for the cars.

I have them both reserved but am now debating what we really need. Is the size difference that significant that we would notice it? If not, then we are going with the compact. My sister said for the amount of time we are going to be in the car, she would rather get the cheaper one....my mother said if its going to be more comfortable, we should get the mid-size. The decision is ultimately mine.

The Versa won't hold as much luggage as a Corolla due to it being a hatch and the Corolla actually having a trunk.

It really depends on how much luggage you all plan to carry around is the best way to determine what rental will work.

I often rent "economy" from Alamo at MCO. My last three cars have been Chevy Aveos. I can fit two LARGE suitcases, a carry on roller, a duffel bag, a back pack and a messenger bag in the trunk.
So, if you pack heavier then us, go up, if not ~ go cheap. The back seat may be a little cramped, but once in the WDW area, you are rarely in the car for more than 20 minutes.

I would also suggest looking into National. You can signup for the Emerald Club on Mousesavers. Alamo & National have close prices, and a mid-size rental in the Emerald club usually equates to a full (or larger) from the Emerald Isle. Might be worth checking into.

A bit OT, but still regarding car sizes. Both Alamo and National do not have a 'standard' size at MCO, so if you book a standard, you will get a full size. Generally a bit less expensive, and the full size is bigger than a standard.
