Hey everyone, just got done watching the special on the travel channel. I noticed they were getting priority seating, how is this different that just getting reservations? Or do you need both? I'm not sure which I should do...

thanks,

eric

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that for most Disney sit-down restaurants, priority seatings are all you can make, with the exception of the dinner shows and maybe Victoria and Alberts? A PS is not a reservation, but sort of puts you in the cue after all the folks who have earlier PS's and before all the folks who have later PS's and those who have no PS's. Even with a PS, there is sometimes a wait, but if you are going at peak times, PS's are a must.

That was a good definition Mrs. Potts.

Basically a Priority Seating is not a reservation "persay" it is just call ahead seating so you will be seated at the next table avalaible for your party size. As Mrs. Potts explained it puts you ahead of the walk up's (people with out a PS) you are usually seated with in 5-10 minutes of the time you have held...if not sooner.

Victoria and Albert's, Hoop Dee Doo and the Polynesian Luau are the only places were you would make an actual "reservation"

You get the next available table (in order of your arrival to other people with a PS).

I have a question too. I'm planning a trip for the first/second week of December so it won't be TOO crowded.

Would you make PSs for just one person?

TIA,
Sue

I would. You still need a table. It's no different than traveling with 2 people. It' shouldn't be too busy so you don't hav eto go crazy, but I would make some PS for the places you know you want for certain meals.

Hope that helps.

What about Cindy's isn't that considered a reservation? If they get your credit card in advance it is already paid isn't it?

PS are a "place holder" in a sense they allow you to check in and be seated when the next table for you party size is available. No credit card required and they don't charge you for not showing up.

Reservations require a credit card to hold your time and you are charged a fee if you do not cancel in a given amount of time prior to your reservation date and time. All the dinner shows require a reservation.

Ok, let me see if I got this:

Certain places require a reservation (like the luau), other places its just a priority seating? Can you schedule a priority seating months in advance, or just that day?
