Difference between Platinum/Special/and unique editions

Hi everyone! My husband and I are trying to fill out our Disney DVD collection, and we are having a hard time trying to figure out if, for example, our Gold Collection Mulan is good or if we need to upgrade to the Special Edition now or wait until there is a Platinum Edition. I understand there is a change in the amount of extras available, but we are mostly interested in the "digitally remastered" quality. We have this same issue with Dumbo's Big Top Edition and Robin Hoods Most Wanted Edition. Where do these fall in the quality of movie in the Disney Release Editions range?

I thought that generally the packaging says "digitally remastered" for any of the non-standard or older releases.

Actually I thought that all of the new multi-disc sets were remastered, but I could be wrong.

You might try looking up the titles on Amazon.com or something like that which will give you the product details.
