Hi guys! We went to Babies R Us tonight and tried the City Mini out for my son. It was a tish tight for him. What is the difference between the mini and the elite?? Is the elite bigger? If so, what parts are bigger? Any advice is greatly appreciated! :)

The seat dimensions on the elite are the same as the mini. The difference between the two current models is the elite has 12inch air or forever air tires, adjustable handle, extendable footrest, and since it is air tires it sits up high which makes getting in and out bit more tedious for little ones, and the elite has a 75 pound weight limit. The new mini GT that is coming out in february is a cross between the two as far as feature giving the mini air tires, adjustable handle, a weigh limit of 65 pounds and taller/wider seat it may be a better option for you. Standard width on most strollers is between the 13 being the most popular and 15 being occasional, the elite has a 14 inch width inside of the frame the mini will be about this same size but I don't have mine available right now for measurements.

I have the Cite Elite. I know the previous poster said the seat diminsions were the same but I am not sure about that. I tried out the Citi mini first as well, as it is the cheaper model, but my then 3 yr old barely fit in it. The City Elite he fit fine, and still fits fine at almost 5 yrs old. I know it is bigger all around then the Mini as well. My SIL has the Mini and the Elite is obviously bigger then it when parked next to each other. It is also MUCH MUCH heavier but with that said, I LOVE my Elite and I am so happy I purchased it, despite how big & bulky it is. Both my kids ride comfortably in it. And like I said, my son will soon be 5, and while he doesn't ride in it all that much anymore, when he does, he is comfortable & he even can still nap in it.

Ya I have to agree with the pp. My best friend has the Elite and I have the Mini. Im pretty sure the seats are bigger in the Elite. Love my City Mini, and my son is big. He seems to fit well.. Hes almost 4 and 40lbs. Good luck! If you plan on traveling a lot, to me the Elite is overwhelmingly big. Its huge! I think its nice for outside walking, not so sure about the mall or places with lots of people. Both still really nice strollers, just depends on your needs.:goodvibes

Here are the current measurements of the new city mini my mini is an 08 model, I measured my elite again in comparison and they are the same measurements and I don't currently have the PE board in the back of my elite it is in mini and I also had it in my classic.

the seats sit differently which gives the elite a deeper seat rather than the mini's upright which makes the seat look smaller. I have them both but my mini is on loan right now as I use them for my 8yr old with special needs, the push is harder w/ the mini b/c more weight is applied to the front wheel than it is on the elite. The baby jogger city classic has a taller seat than the elite no adjustable foot rest and a square canopy. Since my daughter is what you would call broad stroller width is an issue for us as well as height I don't like for her be squished in a stroller and in the mini that is exactly what she looks like verses the elite and the classic.Seat measurements are a big deal for me since I don't have the option to try out most of the strollers I buy/own and I had a hard time going w/ the classic and the elite b/c of the seat dimensions but it has worked out for us. Here are some pics to get an idea.

My 8yo in a City Elite. I have only 2 complaints, wish it had more leg room, and wish when you folded it up that the handle didn't end up on the ground. But its worth it, it pushes like a dream even with my 50+ pound kid in it. We purchased a console for the handlebar with velcro closures, but I still end up emptying it to get on the Disney bus at the end of the day, which is a bit of a pain.

lucigo, love the second pic my city classic pics were taken in our room at CSR. That's part of the reason I don't care for the soft consoles you have to empty them either way so I use the valcobaby universal cupholders and I use a skip hop saddle bag that I attach to the bar at the top like a cosole if velcro's on and I unhook it and throw it in a bag or carry by the handle.

On a side not my dd weighs 72 pounds of dead weight she is not able to stand or walk due to her disabilities.

We just got an Elite and it came with a console for the handlebars. I guess that's a new feature?

We got the Elite because DH needs the adjustable handle bars. We doesn't like that the handle ends up on the ground either. We haven't used it yet though (DD is too young) so I don't know what other complaints we'll have with it.

Oh gosh I bet your back knows all about that dead weight, take care of yourself! I recently found a pack of hooks at walmart and have everything hooked into the console now, camera, ear protectors, etc. and a giant hook for a backpack.

Mine can walk he just doesn't have the stamina to go all over the world, or the focus to stay with us, or the desire since he still finds the rides scary. I am not at all looking fwd to the day he outgrows this stroller!

Sounds like you are talking about the mommy hooks, I have two of those as well best thing in the world for hooking all of your bags together to get on the buses at disney w/, lol.

Thank You, It hasn't yet thankfully but mostly b/c I have been gradually conditioned to lifting her and right now I am on a break from lifting her b/c I am pregnant. I know I will hate the day when I can't push her in it anymore b/c she has a wheelchair but when we go on outings like disney that are more than just a regular day she tends to nap and its not really doable in her chair b/c I have had to remove the headrest.

Hi guys!! Thanks for all the great info! I think we are gonna rent from Orlando Strollers and go with the city elite. It seems to look more roomy and my son is a big kid. We are only getting it so he doesn't have to walk if he gets tired. He will walk most of the day. We love having the stroller though when he gets tired and to carry our stuff on! He is now too big for the Maclaren we've always taken from home though. So sad! And we are borderline whether to rent or not but figured it would be better to have in case than to not have and need!

Thanks for all the awesome pics too!! I feel much better deciding now!
