I found a great rate for the Boardwalk Villas. I've only stayed at resorts before and never at the Boardwalk, so I don't know if this is something I want to do.

I'm a resort neophyte so I really need some help.

What is the difference between staying at the Boardwalk Inn and the Boardwalk Villas?

I know the villas are more like condos, but I need help w/ the other differences - like where are they located? do they have regular housekeeping? do you have access to all of the resort amenities? etc.

Please help!

a studio in the villas has a queen bed and a double sleeper sofa plus a kitchennett with mircowave, toaster, coffee maker, underthe counter refrigerator - wet bar (deep sink)

if you rent from Disney not a DVC member - you will receive full housekeeping.

if you rent from a member you will receive trash/towels - they take out the trash and change the towels on day 4 - if you stay longer on day 8 - you will receive a full cleaning.

the villa are in the section that you check in - just check in and walk to the left to the elevators. (the inn are in the other direction)

the villa have more activities you get to use the community hall and do its activities. the main pool (the one with the silly clown) is also on the BWV side not the inn. So is the pool bar.

I recently rented points from a DVC owner and am staying at BWV in November. Here is what I've found...

"Disney's BoardWalk Villas are part of the timeshare resort that belongs to the Disney Vacation Club (DVC). Disney's BoardWalk Inn is a Disney hotel in the "Deluxe Resort" category." - from allearsnet.com

There are two halves of the resort...Inn and Villas. You are right in saying that the Villas are similar to a condo. Even a studio has a small kitchenette (small fridge, microwave, toaster and coffee maker). Some call this a glorified hotel room which isn't far off. Then you get into one and two bedroom villas which have full kitchens.

Both Inn and Villas have access to both pools and hotel amenitites. If you are a DVC owner, there may be a few other perks (free internet).

The BWI and BWV are housed in the same building. If you are looking at the building from the boardwalk the Inn is the left "wing" while the villas are the right wing.

I have only stayed at BWV but believe the decor to be the same for both. You are correct that the villas are condo-style. You have the same access to resort amenities, there is so difference in guests of the two.

Mousekeeping is completely dependent on how you book it. If you are a DVC member or are booked on DVC points you receive trash removal and fresh towels on day 4 then full mousekeeping on day 7. If you book through disney directly or a travel agent you will receive mousekeeping every day just like any other resort room.
We booked a 1 bdrm at VWL through Disney and receive excellent mousekeeping. The mousekeeper even loaded and ran the dishwasher for us every day. I would have never expected that! But let me tell you how nice it was to have all those sippy cups clean after we left in a hurry for the parks!

Enjoy your trip! :wizard:

:thanks:Thanks to everyone who replied. This all makes much more sense to me now. I love the disboards!!

Just one more question - If you had the choice to book a studio villa or a regular room at the Boardwalk Inn, which would you do and why?

Villas! Even if you book a studio, like we did, you will have the small kitchenette. That will be a big help to us for snacks, breakfast and drinks!

It depends on how many people you have. If it's just a couple, I would go with the villas. You could sleep in the queen bed and leave the sofabed folded up, giving you more floor space. If you have children, especially older, you may want to go with the Inn because you would get 2 queens and a daybed (not sure if the daybed is in all rooms).

villa you are closer to the community hall and the main pool, plus the pool bar

Well, that looks unanimous! Thanks everyone for helping to make this an easy decision for us! You guys are the best :flower3:

If I were choosing between a BWV studio and a regular BWI room, I'd book the BWI room. The studio only has one queen bed and one double sleeper sofa. The BWI room will have two queen beds.
