Hola,

I spoke with the DCL rep about our tasting. She told me she didn't know much about what the mixology would entail but it's basically about the art of mixed drinks. She says we make our selection of the type of tasting, date and time she will submit it to the crew and they will try to accomdate us. She thinks they would probably be able to confirm everything for us about 2 weeks out as that's around the time that they make all the plans and schedules for the cruise and then they would be able to figure out where they could accomdate us. She didn't know what other tastings were planned as those are scheduled around the same time period. Sounds like we basically just need to make our plans and then put it to the good folks of Disney to see if they can make it all fall into place.

With that said, I would like us to figure out what type of tasting we would like to request. Connie, will you be able to set up a quick poll on the cruise website or should we just discuss it here?

Oh dear....one item in my little package is a ordered item...I have 120 of them....I guess I could try to order more and hope they arrive in time...I do have 4 weeks. what is the GRAND total of everyone on the list (except infants - I usually don't include infants)

Cayla, did you not get the FE link I PM'd you? It has all three lists on there, just click on the bottom tabs for Full, Group one or Group Two. You requested the Full list, so look at that sheet. It will have everyone in the full group. If you would like to do just half, then I will put you in either group one or group two. I will PM you the link again.

Kristi, your list makes total sense to me.

You don't have to pay to see WOC, but you should have a ticket. You get tickets from a fast pass machine at Grizzly River Rapids.

YES!! We tried to wing it and it was crowded and the area to stand in front for us w/o tickets was full. We stood at the California Screamin' take off area and it wasn't good at all. We were there at Christmas and the parks were also at capacity, but we have heard it's been like that for the WOC since it opened. Next time we are getting the meal deal.

Received an email from DCL today regarding luggage tags and changed rooms. It didn't use to be like this but now if your room number is changed within the 45 day mark for whatever reason they charge $50 to send new tags with the correct room #.
The alternative is to cross out the room # and write your new # on the tag so I will get my sharpie out. However, we have done this in the past and our bags ended up at the original room so just make sure you remember that number also. FYI

A few people have asked me about the lanyards. In addition to the braclets (thanks to Kristi for getting those done) this will be another way for us to recognize Disboard members and their families. They especially come in handy during the different Dismeets as you will easily be able to see everyone's name and disname. The lanyard is also a pouch and good place to put your Disney Id card/spending card (not sure what the're called).

It looks like we will be going with the following design. I don't have the exact cost yet (need to see how many too order) but I've guestimated at $1 or $2 per lanyard. Connie (Travelbee) and I will begin working on these and getting everything orderd and ready in time for the cruise. As for payment it would probably be easiest to pay on the ship as I'm not savy enough to set up pay pal and we'll be delivering them then.

I have started working on the list so please PM me or post here. I just need the first name for each person in your group (including the kids).

Really stupid question. But does this include the actual lanyard (the rope) or is it just the picture?

1st time cruiser---- So the KTTW card, I see pics of people wearing it. Does everyone need one? Adults and the kiddies?

another idea....don't use those tags at all. When you get to the port ask any porter for luggage tags and have the porter put the newest room number on the tags. The sorting system uses the barcode NOT the numbers (printed or written) on the tags. If for some reason the sorting system wasn't updated your baggage ends up at the wrong room. If you want to use those tags, cross out the barcoding as well as the old room number.

Unfortuntely the hand written tags are the last ones sorted, so the bags come last. Usually around dinner time. For upgrades done at the port after your bags are gone with the porter you will have to just wait it out..your room steward can help you find them. I would suggest taking a photo of your bags as well, this way there is no question about the color or shape of your bag...you can just show the photo to your steward!

Not sure if this is a help or not...I have done it both ways...never had an issue at all. I do know that searched bags are the very last to be released. If you have any long pieces of metal, expect a bag search...I have traveled with people who packed monopods (like a tripod but only one leg!) and every time the bags were searched...looks like a gun barrel on the XRays I guess. Another time a companion had a golf tool in her luggage - it was confiscated (I guess a 3" knife was unacceptable) and her bag wasn't delivered until the next day . I have always packed a wine key without any issue.
