Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

Hello everyone,

Our cutoff date of March 1st, to be added to the FE list, is fast approaching. Please take a look at the list and let me know if you wanted to be added or removed from the list. Currently we have 31 cabins participating. I have said all along that I would split the list in half to make it more manageable for those that wanted a smaller group. You can decide to be in one or both groups. I will start splitting the groups after March 1st. I will also start a group for late comers. Once I get the groups together, I will email participants a spreadsheet of who is in your group so we can start planning.

I need information from you. Please PM me or respond to this post with:

Do you want to be in 1 or both groups?
Do you want an exact assigned day to deliver gifts or a few day range (beginning, middle, end of cruise-majority rules)?
Your cabin number and names of people in your party.

I am totally open to suggestions or tips. If you think of a way I can do this better, please let me know. This is my first FE :goodvibes I want everyone to have a fun experience and it not be stressful.

Thanks, Dany. I actually tried the search field this time and just searched for April 17 and saw our thread there.:cool1:

At the top - under where your PM notices are is a link "quick links" if you click on that - go to subscribed threads...all the threads you post on show up...very easy peasy!

I suggest telling your server on your first night there. They will likely take care of you. My little guys celebrated his 3rd birthday on our last cruise (Mediterranean) and our servers brought out a small cake and along with some other servers, sang him happy birthday. It was great and Colin loved it.
If I recall, when you fill out your online check-in there is a way to make note of special events. Tell the HEAD SERVER as well as your regular server. The first night is very busy for all of them. They have to go through every food allergy and sometimes things get "misplaced" in the craziness of the first night. They will help you if you want to decorate the table as well. I have seen some kids whose parents have the table decorated with a favorite theme. You can also tell guest services once onboard, and you might be able to set up a meet/greet with a character...you can ask!

I am totally open to suggestions or tips. If you think of a way I can do this better, please let me know. This is my first FE :goodvibes I want everyone to have a fun experience and it not be stressful.

I'm still figuring out my FE's but may end up personalizing some of them. In addtion to first name could people supply the famalies last name?

Thanks!

My DD turned 7 last month, February. We'd love to participate in the b-day "party". I would not worry in the least. I bet it will her best b-day yet, and most likely her biggest party ever. Everyone will make a big deal for her!!!

Found several great disney themed, reasonably priced, easy to pack, FE kids gifts today. We need numbers!!! I bought 26 of one thing, having no idea if I'll need 16, 26, 36, 46!?!?!?!?

Any GTY room assignments issued lately???

We had a room, then a different room, and now we are GTY. I'm hoping the longer we wait maybe we'll get an upgrade(doubtful, but hoping:confused:)

For FE gifts, I get ideas when I'm out shopping, but as you noted, have no clue on how many to get.
And Helen,really, PERSONALIZING! :worship:

Tell me what numbers you want? Remember it also depends on if you are deciding to do both groups of approx. 31 cabins or 1 group of approx. 16 cabins.

For the total FE group of 31 cabins we have 60 adults, 48 kids from 0-12, and 8 teens from 13-18. Does that help?

:rotfl2: I haven't made it to page 20 yet, but I learned some lingo already!

I'm a DM Kel (right, Disney mom? Or should it be DW for Disney wife?) 37yrs, with DH Don 41 yrs, DD Jaz turns 7 on cruise 4/25, DD Syd is 4.5yrs at time of cruise.

We would love in on any sort of group fun you guys have up your sleeves, please let me know how I can help or contribute in any way! I'm in southern Oregon, but grew up in San Fernando Valley in S.Cali and we travel as much as our sanity and pocketbook can handle.

:welcome: Kel! I added your family to the roll call on the website. Send a photo to me when you have a chance. You and I sound alike! I travel as much as our pocketbook and our accrued vacation time will allow too!

And Helen,really, PERSONALIZING! :worship:
:rotfl2:That was funny.

Okay, I finally had a chance to work on this a bit. There is now a page on the website that will allow you to enter your info if you want to participate in the Secret Mickey exchange. The ones who have expressed interest are already listed, but please fill out the form anyway. This is the "rules" so far:

"Secret Mickey is a secret gift exchange for adults on the Disboards who wish to participate. Each participant will be assigned a "secret mickey" (SM) and will be responsible for delivering two gifts to his/her SM anytime from embarkation to Day 9. The total value of the two gifts should be around $20. On Day 10 (last sea day), there'll be a "reveal" over lunch at Tritons. If you cannot make the luncheon, just send your SM a note ahead of time to let him/her know who you are. The idea is to give something special (perhaps something local that can be found only where you live... although it may be difficult with so many people coming from California). The cut off date to sign up for the Secret Mickeys will be March 15, 2011."

This is a working progress. If you have suggestions on the dollar amount, the deadline, or whether we should have a "reveal" luncheon, I'm open to ideas! Check out the page here.

Woo-Hoo! You rock, Chica!:cheer2:

OMG that made me LOL, the :worship: from Susiesark to Helen.

I bet Jaz would love a bday moment with her DIS friends, but not sure how easy it would be to assemble. With all the places to be everyday! See, Jaz is ALL UP INTO her cruise classmates and being there as much as possible. If anything I bet a pre-Oceaneers Club singing might be easiest..WAIT, we are in Cabo on her bday. Hmmm. I think our Cabo tour is the 1st Cabo day. I dunno, I'm all mixed up tonight. :confused3

Connie,
I'm using my office laptop, no access to photos here, but on FB you can grab one (Kel Fox) or if I can remember, I'll logon from home and shoot you one!

I think doing ALL cabins might be too difficult time-wise for me as far as deliveries go. I would LOVE a designated day to deliver gifts, and it might be helpful to assign days so that your FE space can hold the gifts and also to avoid a lot of empty days.

padalyn, etc. thx for links info, I'm getting here fast nowadays!

:rolleyes1 I guess I better get hopping on gift ideas now, Helen put the pressure on! ;)

OOOOH.....that is interesting. I thought I remembered you said you got your GTY assignment earlier. Now they take it away????

When they assigned you your room, was it in the same category that you had the GTY? I don't see this is bad.....I think it may be good :goodvibes

Thanks Kristi and Helen for the cake idea for Jazmin's bday. I'll have to put a cake order on my TO DO list, and bring Dollar Tree decor for the room, etc. Maybe bring some to dinner.

I better whip out my travel binder. Last cruise I brought this flexible school 3 ring binder and it was so helpful because I always save a fresh copy of the daily cruise news, then any other stuff we want to bring home, plus make my own notes, etc. and I don't lose them.

Today I bought some super suction hooks to use on mirrors to hang organizers and toiletry bags. I forgot them last cruise.

Hey, is anyone planning on taking a taxi to a nearby beach in Puerta Vallarta? The excursions cost a bit much, plus are very limited since my littlest isn't 5yrs yet. I think I might roll the dice and take a taxi from the port like we did last year. Last year we just hit old PVallarta and walked around, but maybe we'll take the kids off and hit a beach since I hear there are a lot pretty close to port. Advice anyone?

Okay, we are taking an early city tour on my daughters bday. When I booked the excursion it didn't tell me WHICH Cabo day it is on, so I guess our plans are now made and we'll come back to the ship for a bday lunch or something for Jazmin...I'm trying not to stress out because I know we'll have a great time no matter where we end up on that day.

Thx Virdis, I remember what that means now. Also looked at excursions and I hope they add even more later!

Helen, no pressure! :hippie:

Connie, the website is really special, thanks for putting time and effort into that! Looks like we are near each other, we are in cabin 6608. My info is Kel (37), Don (41), Jazmin (6, turning 7 on 4/25), and Sydnee (4). Main dining I believe. From Medford, Oregon. Only excursion at this point is the city tour early a.m. on 4/25 and hoping to hit a beach in P.Vallarta via taxi and will keep my eyes peeled for an excursion we can do with our 5yr old and a beach in Manzanillo since there is no beach near the port (we were just there in Nov '10).:wizard:

Mariag481!
She has room 6610 and we are 6608! How fun. Well, except for the fact that she may hear or witness our tantrums we haven't completely licked yet in the Fox family. Some day! :sad2:
