Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

BTW, anyone dressing up for pirate night? My husband has a jack sparrow costume and my son has a captain hook costume, so I was thinking of picking up a costume too...

Our family will be dressing up. Our bags were limited on the last cruise but not the case this time. We are looking forward to some great pirate pics.

I would be interested in the Secret Mickey. Is it just one gift at any time? Would this be for the adults, kids or both? :confused3

Does anyone have a high resolution lime green Mickey head they could send me? I am going to print one out for embarkation day to post next to my spot at the port. That way people could find me easily. I thought it would be fun to wait together for all of you over anxious, to the port early people like me.
Do you have a Home Depot near you? If you have a scanner I suggest you drop in at Home Depot, they have Mickey shaped paint chip samples...and a very lime green one!! if you scan it - you can make the resolution as much or little as you wish!;)

We personally have only done this "Quest" on other cruiselines and it's a blast. It is an "Adults Only" scavenger hunt with what's in the room already. It can get a little risque but something most will never skip again on any cruise. :thumbsup2 I can't say too much to spoil it, but do go and have fun. just wish they didn't have it on the very first night. On the Jan nav they only had a family one in the middle of the afternoon. I hope we get both. :cheer2:
They do have something like this on the Magic - it is done in the club at night...it is VERY funny to see the stuff that people come up with - and yes it is adults only and risque! (remembering pulling up my shirt to show a tatoo!):laughing:

It is played in teams...and LOADS of fun!:rotfl:

I don't know too much about Secret Mickey, except that you get one person,or family, from your total FE group,to exchange 1 special gift. (like a Secret Santa) Since Connie has done this before, maybe she can tell us more and how to go about arranging it.
And I'm also curious about Wonder Quest.

I think each meet sort of made up their own rules. The one I participated in, the SM was just for adults. The idea is that the grownups who don't get excited about stickers, etc. from the FE gifts would enjoy getting something special from a SM. We were asked to make 3 deliveries throughout the cruise and spend about $30 total. For example, DH and I both got stacks of our favorite chocolate/candy on the first delivery, we got a DL pin and a customized deck of cards (with our sail date & picture of CC), and a Minnie Mouse doll and Mickey watch. DH gave his SM some Star Trek stuff, a bottle of wine and something else. I gave my SM a cubs hat, a DL pin and candy. We had a spreadsheet that we put in some of our favs items as ideas for our SMs. I can probably create a form on the website that can track that info if we go down that path of SMs.

A week or so ago, (not sure what day, but I did post it at the time) I got a call saying that my Cabo Beach Break was cancelled. This weekend I called to ask why it was still on my ressie. The CM said that the excursion had NOT been cancelled. She had no idea who would have called me, and I hadn't saved the message.

Today, I have NOT yet received a message saying that my Manzanillo Karmina excursion has been cancelled.

Something is very not right. I am frustrated, as I only signed up for three excursions, and now all (including the one in PV) have been cancelled. I'm travelling alone with two young kids and don't feel comfortable going off on my own!!!

I'm a little frustrated too but I'm trying to take it in stride. I laughed when the woman left the message about the Tesoro one being cancelled--she said something like, but there are many others to choose from, please visit the site for more info. What was she smoking, lol?!?! For Manzanillo there really aren't many options. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with it being holy week there in MX?

The one thing I DO know is that we aren't going to get any answers at to "why". I just spent a long time on hole while DVC tried to get some answers from DCL. They conformed the cancellations and said to look on the web site for other options.

I AM taking it in stride, just a little frustrated. I was trying to limit to a few short pool or beach breaks, to get the kids off the ship for a bit. I didn't want any thing big or crazy. Here's to hoping the kids LOVE the clubs and don't want to get off the ship at all!!!!

This sounds like a lot of fun! We're game! :thumbsup2

We'll be dressing up! Before our first Disney cruise, I got some pirate costumes on clearance after Halloween, and my DH was SO not into it! He dressed up under protest. (I think he finally only did it because he would have been furious if there was actually stuff in our many huge suitcases that we hadn't used!:rotfl2:) Then there were so many other people dressed up, and our kids were so excited, that he got into it too. Now when I pack the pirate stuff, I don't even get an argument (just an eye-roll).

Found this webpage from another poster... It has the decorative pillowcases that you can drop off at guest services for the characters to autograph.
I thought it was a great deal, I got the 99 cent pirates of the carribean one... the ds is all about pirates now... so it works out well!

Enjoy shopping!

Thanks for the great link! I just got some. I hope Jack Sparrow and Captain Hook will be around to give autographs in person!

Yep, with 5 out of 9 Manzanillo excursions now unavailable, and 1 available for ages 18 and up only, I wouldn't exactly consider the 3 remaining options "many others to choose from". :rotfl:

I keep going back and forth between Easter/spring break possibly causing problems, especially at the all inclusives, as I'm sure most, if not all, are booked to capacity... and wondering whether DCL might be getting negative reviews back from current cruisers?

I know they once cancelled an excursion we went on, at least temporarily, because some folks on our cruise complained so vocally about how terrible it was. Funny thing though, I felt like we couldn't possibly have been on the same excursion when I heard what they were saying. Yes, there were some kinks, but we were the first DCL excursion ever to stop at that resort (it was a hotel/beach break) and we thought the staff went out of their way to try and make things right for us. Overall we had a great time on the same excursion they hated so much. :confused3

Of course I have no idea if something like that has anything to do with our disappearing excursions or not, but I have noticed a fair amount of complaining about the first MR cruises from a few folks, probably a minority, but a pretty vocal one.

woo hoo - my room just posted! 6319

AND the excursions are posted for day 8 at Cabo...I got the one I wanted!!!!

Life is GOOD!!!

I can see some of the Day 8 excursions, but I can't book - says "no reservations available.....:confused3

Cayla - would you mind checking if it lets you select the BOB excursion in Cabo on Day 8? Just curious if you get the option; if so, it might have to do with your platinum status and the rest of us just need to wait a few days.

Yes the BOB is there and available. I went all the way to the conflict screen. It says there is a time of 08:45 but no reservations are available on day 8. I wonder if that is not being offered yet? It is available for day 9 at 09:15 if that is any help.

I booked the Canopy Zip Line excursion.

The following are NOT available:
Cabo Dolphin Encounter
Cabo Dolphin Swim
Cabo Dolphin Trainer Program
Cabo Resort Beach Getaway
Whalewatching & Deluxe Coastal Cruise (Seasonal)

hopefully that helps a little...sorry there wasn't better news.

Cayla,
Since you cruise frequently, can you please tell me if DLC still has staggered dining? I remember that early seating use to be 5:15, 5:30, or 5:45 (I think) and late 8:00, 8:10 and 8:45.Or is there now one time for early and one time for late?
Thanks!:)

Michelle, there is one time for early and one time for late now. Hmm, I think early is 5:45 and late is 8:15. It is funny, we eat at 5:30 at home and my kids are in bed at 7:30. On the cruise I specifically switched to and want late dining. There are a few different reasons why I prefer it. I am hoping my kids switch to "ship time" without a problem. Definitely naps will be implemented for my 2 year old, who does not take them at home. I have been prepping him for months that he needs to nap on the Mickey boat.

A few updates on the website. I added a new page for the navigators but some of the links are not working properly. I'll fix them when I have more time to check each one. On the main page, I added the info on the dining rotations. On the roll call, I was able to get Penny's video to play from the roll call page, so that is now in place of their placeholder photo.
