Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

I called Super Shuttle for a price quote for picking up at Long Beach Airport and taking us to the port. The cost is $27 for the first person and $9 for each additional person. Pick up from hotels in the area should be the same price, because I live about 5 minutes from the airport, in a different zip code, and it costs the same if they are picking up from my house. The return trip, from port to airport, is the same price.

I just e-mailed them to find out the max and min of people for booking a group on 4/20/11. :thumbsup2
Sounds like a great idea! We may be interested, but need to check with our friends who have yet to chime in yet! We did the booze cruise in PV years ago before kids and it was similar - snorkel, lunch and beach except it included a short horseback ride to a waterfall. I was hoping to find something like that without the booze... b/c DD LOVES horses. And yes, we'd have to check on the Randi's in Mazalan.

hi! We're on board too. I don't know what all the initials mean (DH etc) but there's me, hubby, and new baby on second seating, traveling from western PA. My username is loving _life (note there is a space before the underscore... don't know how but I have to live with it). What happens with all this info.. do we all try to meet? Anyone compile a list of those with fish extenders? Take care!!:yay:
Welcome Kristen! I got your email and added your family to the roll call on the website. If you like, send me a photo so we can "see" our Dis friends before we get on the ship!

I was going to book the pirate ship excusion through this comapny:

http://www.puertovallartatours.net/marigalante-pirate-ship.htm

They seem to have it listed at the lowest price that I have found plus they said that they meet you at the cruise ship terminal and that you get a special VIP wristband.

Also, we may not go because DH(cory) doesn't like to spend the whole day off the ship and we have early dinning and not sure if we don't get back till 4:30/5 pm we wont have time to shower and get ready for the evening activities. Not to mention our girls may be too tierd to make it to pirate night and the nightly show

That looks like a lot fun! DH is concerned about our kiddos not being able to participate in the snorkeling and other activities since they are so young (4 and 2), but I think we would be fine enjoying the beach, pirate show and that type of stuff! :)

Are you able to leave them on the ship while you do excursions? Don't know for sure, but I thought you could.

Hi Susiesark,

We definitely don't want to leave them on the ship for that long (also, I hear that the nursery for my 2-year old has a max of 10 hours total care time, but that could be for a 5-day or 7-day cruise).

So, first choice is pirate adventure with them. Second choice would be to just stay on ship or walk around the very crowded town.

I thought it might be fun to stay the night before the cruise at DL and get in the Disney spirit and hang out at DD...well the price they quoted me for the DLH was $419 and the PP was $315!!!:scared1:

It's a good thing I didn't even ask about the GCH!!! Plan B here we come!

That sounds a little high. There should be new rates out about Feb usually for less than $200 a night at DLH. Though it could need a min number of nights. :confused3

It will be Spring Break, so high capacity. There are other options for a much lower price, but then you will have to worry about transportation to and from airport and ship.

We were thinking of flying in on Friday and spending 2 nights at the GCH with a 3 day ticket...1550.00.
Thats just Crazy! We don't need to finalize plans yet, so we have a little time. We may decide to stay at a good neighbor hotel, since we have never been to Disneyland and would really like to go...

Michelle,
I think we are doing this one with our 3 and almost 5 year old.:) I don't really want to leave them on the ship.

Hi Michelle ~

Good to know you and your family might do this excursion - I think it would be fun even w/o the snorkeling. My kids love playing on the beach so i'm sure they would be thrilled!

Wow, it's so quiet here today. Hope everyone's off having fun! :goodvibes
popcorn::I thought the same thing. I saw World Of Color again last night. Whenever any of you are coming, check to see if the picnic package is available. It's a pretty good deal and it saves a lot of time waiting in line in the morning. And bring a hat. You WILL get wet.

Hi everyone! We have had one crazy week! DL was a blast this weekend. It was great meeting Susan on Sunday. We had a really big group on Sunday so it was hard to spend too much time together. It is usually like that when we go to DL. It always seems to be a really big group.

We will be returning to DL the last weekend of this month and then school starts.

I'm pretty sure this is who we used when we were on the Magic MR in 2005. At that time, the Margilante was docked not too far away from the Magic so it was a quick walk. It was an excellent experience and my kids LOVED it. The food was good, the show was outstanding (they do ask for tips at the end) and entertaining the entire time and the stop on the private island was a blast. At that time they had the banana boat running and they had snorkeling equipment. I can wholeheartedly recommend this tour if you're having second thoughts. I'll try to dig up our digital pics (on a different computer) and post them. On the way home a couple of us did get seasick, so bring bonine just in case. ;)

And yes, we'd have to check on the Randi's in Mazalan.

We also did Randi's in Maz...that was excellent. It was a bit of a trek to get there and you see all kinds of things along the way, which was great for my then 8 year old. He realized how fortunate we are for all we have. Once on the beach with the horses the scenery was amazing and the lunch stop was yummy. Another thumbs up for this excursion. :thumbsup2
