Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

Really good point...there are sooo many days to do the pirates night. I have been on my laptop way too much doing research. :badpc: Well...we probably won't know which night is what until we get in 2011 anyway. :headache: I need to work on our other cruise for a while. JoJo and I have watched the Harry Potter movies this week. Thinkin' bout going to Universal Orlando for a few days after that cruise. That place looks like it will take at least 2 or 3 days to tour well :woohoo:
Man, I'm so jealous of all of you with multiple cruises lined up. MUST BE NICE:rolleyes:

Here's a secret: DH thinks his blackberry doesn't work on the ship. PLEASE DO NOT TELL HIM ANY DIFFERENT, LOL.

Michelle, that sounds like me - ALWAYS on my Blackberry. It really, really annoys my husband and probably my kids. I will be happy to leave it behind (in our stateroom, not back home!) :rolleyes1

The Pirate Ship was offered as a DCL excursion in 2008. Here's the description:

Pirate Sail & Snorkel Adventure (6.5 hours)
Meeting Time: 8:00am
YO HO! It's the pirate life aboard the Marigalante. You'll be welcomed aboard this "pirate ship" by the congenial captain and crew. You'll be served breakfast, watch the sails be hoisted, and cheer for your favorite contestant in the pirate contest. There's lots of fun in store as you set sail for the two hour voyage to Majahuitas Beach. You'll drop anchor at this secluded spot and have 2 hours to swim, surf and sun. There's a sand sculpturing contest, beach volleyball and other games for you to enjoy. You'll head back onboard the Marigalante for a delicous barbecue lunch. During your two hour cruise back to the port, the captain and crew will put on a pirate show with fun contests for you to take part in.
Price: $62.00 (ages 10 and up), $52.00 (ages 3 - 9)

That does sound better, only 6.5 hours. Is it safe to say we will be of the Disney Ship and meeting the excursion folks by 8:00 am? Seems early but then again, I have no idea what to expect!

The description was from a cruise several years ago (hence the relatively low price, which I am sure will be higher for 2011), so I don't think we can be sure what they're going to do this time until they finally post the port adventures. But I'd guess it'll be a similar meeting time, maybe not off the ship though. We've often gathered in a meeting area on the ship for ship excursions, then left the ship as a group. The meeting time and place will be printed on excursion tickets that get delivered to your cabin.

It kinda is!! First for us! Just remember you get to go to DL WAY MORE than us. ;) But the RCCL ressie was one we book on-board and it's been moved around 3 times and have until Oct 2012 to use it. I would like to take this one but we do have a problem with it only being 7nts, but the price is really good and it's during Winter Break. So if we add a few days at Universal Orlando... :thumbsup2

Well, when you come here during the holidays, we'd love to meet you at DL. We know lots of 'secrets';)

Do share! All I know about the holidays at DL is that our passes are blocked out!

I just checked into the World of Colors and the picnic deal sounds like a great idea. But the first show doesn't start until 9 pm... is that when you eat??

Brooklyn got this deal so she may know more. What I've seen is that you can pick up your picnic box early (before 7:30?) then you can eat it while you are waiting for the show to begin, which isn't until 9:00. I asked a security guard the other day, about watching from the bridge. He said that may be the best vantage point, and you won't have to have a ticket. But plan on staking out a spot by 7:00 pm for the 9:00 show. Also, passholders get a discount on the picnic box. You can see what dates are still available

You can pick up the meals early. It either starts at 11 or 1 for meal pick up. I can't remember. When you pick them up they are packaged really nice and they give you a bottle of soda of your choice. We picked ours up around 5pm bc that is when we got there for the day. It is def the way to go when watching WOC. I loved the tote bags we got for ordering the meals online too!

They have been selling out of the meals about 1-2 weeks in advance so I would try to buy them a few weeks before.

Yes right now the 1st show is at 9. I think that will change as the sun starts setting sooner. Madison (5) was trying to keep her eyes open by the time the show started. She was asleep by the time we got to the exit gate after the show. It will be nice if they move the time up a bit.

If anyone has special needs or requires wheelchair seating the wheelchair section in Blue is great! We were further back away and seated up higher. We could see everything and did not get wet at all. We were prepared to get wet but were happy when we did not.

Oh talking about this makes me so excited for the last weekend of the month. We can't wait to return to DL for the weekend. The HOJO AP rates of $59 are just wonderful, we can't pass them up! The girls love the pirate pool area and the rooms are great. It is so nice to be right across from the park and access to mimi's and mcdonalds so close to the hotel!

Proud mama moment -

If anyone has gotten their costume express halloween catalog...look at the Tinkerbell and the Great Fairy Rescue costumes. The Silvermist and Vidia are my dd, Brooklyn! :cool1:

Do you know if they will run World of color throughout the fall? Hoping it will be running in November!!!

I think WOC is here to stay. I do not think it was something that was just brought in for the summer. It is something that has been advertised in the Blue Sky Cellar for well over a year now. I just looked at the DL calendar it is listed through Sept 30th (that is as far out as calendar goes right now) and it is listed at 8:15. Yeah for an earlier time!

Let me know when you are in town for more fun. I wondered if you'd be doing Mimi's (my favorite)

On a side-note: I got fabric to start my FE today. I think I bought twice as much as I needed. I have EXACTLY 8 months to get it done.

I don't have the hard copy catalog, but if that's her in the on line version too, she's adorable!

Costumes!! That's one thing I forgot about. Thanks for the reminder. Gotta start the research...:surfweb:

Is this for the pirate costume or something else? We were looking at patterns today, and by that I mean, "What can I come up with without getting too complicated?"
I'm not even sure where my sewing machine is. Even DD asked if I had ever sewn before (Thank-you for your vote of confidence) The thought of the FE is scaring me.

Thanks, I guess I was thinking like fireworks they only run in the Summer and Holiday season, I was wondering if they would do the same for WOC. But I guess WOC is not disruptive to the neighbors as Fireworks are.

:rotfl: That is what happened to me, in making my FE. I thought I would Save money by making my own vs buying one from etsy or ebay. Of course did get a few extra pillows out of the extra material.

Yes it is the same as in the hardcopy catalog.

Unfortunately my DD8 has requested to be a werewolf. Something I am going to have to figure out how to make out of fur and old clothes. I was hoping she would have wanted to reuse on of her 6 dance costumes from this past year. :confused3 I may be struggling in October to figure out how to get hair on her face.

Do your schools allow Halloween costumes? They still do it at DD'sh school and even do a parade.
