Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

And I have a question: Is Pirate Night standard on all the cruises? Do you bring your own costumes?

I'm playing catch up (crazy busy work week) so I'm sure this has been answered but if not...many people dress up in full costume. Many people just plop on the provided bandana's. Some people (like us...check out our roll call picture once Connie's able to get it posted) just wear red and black. Bottom line, whatever you choose to do is what's perfect for your family! :thumbsup2

Yes, it has been quiet over here. Southern California finally got the heat-triple digits today. I popped into Disneyland for a few minutes this morning, and I have the 55th Anniversary Brochures, if anyone would like one. I'll be back on Saturday for the festivities.

Do you have any park maps that you can mail to me(mine are 5 yrs old and outdated)? Your so lucky to live so close. I'll PM you my address is you do.

:woohoo::woohoo: ALRIGHT!!! I know your really excited!! Check out my first ticker too! :woohoo: Looks like we'll be there at the same time (I changed my dates to after Christmas instead of before). :rotfl: Have you been to DL or WDW at the holidays? It's sooo festive and beautiful. It's my FAVORITE time to visit.

What are your dates? We fly out the 23 and leave the 31st. Were staying offsite and planning on getting 6 day park tickets. We have been there once in early 05 Lea was just 4 and lani wasn't even 2 so they don't remember very much. We only did 3 days(so cal city pass) with 2 small kids so we didn't have time to "enjoy" all DL has to offer. We have been to WDW the last 2 yrs from christmas through new yrs so we know what to expect for crowds.

9 Months

OMG it is 106 here too and no rain in sight (We want rain this time of year to cool things down). The desert is a cruel place in the summer.

Kristi - I had forgotten how hot it gets in N. Cal. I remember growing up without central air and being in the 2nd story trying to sleep at night.
The best thing you have going for you all out there is Folsom Lake and the American River and Lots of shade trees. We have none of that in the desert an have to take some dips in the pool.

Anyone up to connecting on facebook?

I do facebook and check it daily but I don't post that much but I think it would be neat to FB. I'll send you a friend request.

Kristi-Happy Birthday to DL and to YOU!!! :cake:

It was so great meeting you and your kids, too! It was HOT!!!! Love the opportunity to meet up before the cruise, talk about all the details and get excited!!

Welcome to all the new families!
Wow thats so neat that you guys live so close. I'm lucky that more girls are so outgoing that they don't have trouble making/meeting new friends. they love going to the kids clubs.

9 months FINALLY!!! It really felt like this last month went SOOO slow, except it feels like my summer is almost over. This last week has been a lot of staying low...JoJo had strep throat and ended up in the ER with 106.6 temp. I'm ready for life again except it's hot as hell in Fresno! :sad2:

Sorry to here about JoJo hope he's feeling better. I know how scary it is when they get high temps like that.

Kristi-HAPPY BIRTHDAY :bday:

Welcome to our new members Auntshell and Jareds_mommy:welcome:

Hope eveeryones off to a great wk:grouphug:

Can we sign up for the FE too, I just read all about it and it looks like fun

We would also like to be added. We are travelling with Jareds_mommy, and some other friends. We are a family of 5 Me, DH, DS(13),DD(11),DS(5). This will be our first cruise on Disney and our first cruise with the whole family. Very excited!! :cheer2:

Thanks everyone...JoJo is sooo back to normal. After the last of his fever (Friday) I kept him inside for a few more days except church yesterday because of our nice warm :rolleyes1 days. He finally got to get out today he will be getting new glasses the have "hidden mickeys" and we swam with some of his friends. Man, I just hate when someone has a fever in this heat. :sad2:

It's so nice to see the new faces on the Roll-call. :woohoo:
It actually appears JoJo will have other male peers on the ship. :grouphug:

8 days in SoCal...there is soo much to see and do. The girls are at the perfect age to do the 2 parks. :thumbsup2 Knott's Berry Farm is about 15 mins NW of DL. Universal Studios, Hollywood Blvd. & Graumans.

This time we will also be staying off-site. We will be there the 27th thru the 31st. That will give us 3 1/2 days in the parks. I have this trip on a cross-my-fingers that we will go. With the 2 cruises next year and our annual Pismo trip on the books for this year...we have a boat and a trailer to camp. I am slowly working on Danny because he was off work most of Jan -May. Soo I can't ask for too much at once. :confused3

For those of you arriving a day early, what are your plans? We are flying in on Saturday the 16th (still unsure of the time) and trying to decide if we want to stay in Downtown Disney for Sat. night or near the port. Anyone know of any decent hotels near the port that has a free or cheap shuttle there? Thank you!!! :flower3:

Hello everyone,
We are booked on this cruise as it was hard to resist the KSF offer especially as it occurs over our kids' spring break. The MR cruise will be our second, our first being the Magic Halloween cruise to the Western Caribbean at the end of October. We live near DC in northern Virginia. Our party is me (Beth), DH Steve, DD7 and DD7 (yes they are twins and will have turned 7 by then.) We look forward to meeting all of you on the Wonder. We would like to participate in the FE too.

Beth

Not sure what it means.. I did check my reservation and the 3 ports are no longer showing, they might be changing days for our ports. Cabo is only part listed. :confused3

I saw this, I don't think I am too worried. They are probably either changing port days or times, or there was a glitch in IT and accidentally got erased from the site. I doubt they would cancel ports and the IT/web guys are the first to know and not customer service.

It does make me nervous hearing about violence though. I also just read about the girl being killed in St. Thomas. Will see as we get closer, but we are probably going to stay close to the ship, or maybe do a Disney excursion. We normally do not do the ship excursions since they are so expensive.

:welcome: to all the new families joining us!!!

Interesting...I got into the DCL reservation site and all the ports are still listed in the itinerary section. I did notice too that only concierge rooms are availBle for a family of four for a whopping amount. Guess the number of children for the kids clubs or the lifeboat number is reaching capacity. And no KSF availability either. Glad we booked already!!!

The husband of a really good friend of mine is a uncover narcotics cop in San Diego and he does a lot of Fed Govt DEA work...he told me last night we were out of our minds for going to mexico and not to expect it to improve but get way worse. He could not elaborate because he's not able to but said emphatically, do not get off the ship and that I have no idea "what you're getting into if you get off the ship". He said at least leave the kids behind on the ship if we decide to get off. Freaked me out :scared1: I won't cancel but I think we'll enjoy the ship on port days. We did DCL MR in '05 and had mexico stops on our DCL PC cruise in '08 so I'm not worried about missing anything. Although I do love the beaches...such is life....

We also come in a day early. We are probably staying at the Sunrise, it does have shuttle service, but it's a little rundown in 08. The only reason we are going back there is you can see the ships from the rooms on Harbor Blvd, has the park & cruise and it's cheap. There is the San Pedro site: http://www.sanpedro.com/spcom/crusshp.htm you can check out. There are places like Doubletree, Clarion & Crown Plaza and I believe they also have shuttles. I don't know if any of the LAX hotel have shuttles to the port, but there are plenty of shuttle companies like Super Shuttle. HTH, Sandy

party: Welcome to all the new posters!! :jumping1:

oh I had do dig our tread out again I'm sure everyone is busy with summer plans. Plus I always forget about the time zone difference and that most of you are 2 hrs behind me:cool2:

Well you all know we have a trip planned to DL over christmas. We had to come back on friday because it was double the airfare price to take a saturday flight on NY day. Not sure what were going to do the extra day yet.

Also I am not fond of my picture either, but haven't found a good one yet. ;)

We are driving out to California and not sure where we will be staying but thinking of the Doubletree or one of the hotel's that offer free parking for the duration. We will be spending a few days after at DL
