"Beginning March 25, you can join Captain Jack Sparrow and a crew of rowdy pirates for a Disneyland park exclusive, extended 3D film sequence -- a sneak peek of the new "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" film. Look for "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides – Sneak Peek" on weekend nights from March 25 to May 30, and seven nights a week from April 15 through May 1."

Wish we could go, but will have to wait awhile. JoJo picked the first Pirates movie for our family movie night last night. Wish I would have bought a pirate outfit for JoJo now. Does anyone know if they sell them on the ship?

Please say a prayer for my DH as he is leaving his post in Afghanistan in a few hours, and heads to Kabul. It will take about a week to get here, as he has to go through debriefing (something like that) Some of you know first hand what I'm talking about.

My goodness and I thought we were over extending ourselves but you guys have us beat once again!

Yes, we are crazy but Las Vegas is not going to be a "fun" trip. We're hoping to get the house on the rental market before we go on vacation. I didn't even mention that Sean is traveling for work 4/11-4/14, which he finds ironic to have to come home from Orlando to get on a Disney Cruise. And he's traveling for work again on 5/1.

Boards are a bit quiet. Is it because everyone is so busy getting ready or are we bored with the cruise already? Top five things I am looking forward to...1. pool lounging, 2. umbrella drinks, 3. dancing 4. dinner at Palo, 5. spa treatments. What about everyone else??

Personally, I was frantically bagging and tagging the FE gifts and get them ready to go! Definitely not bore with the cruise!! What I look forward to most is just not having to go into work...

The nook you say. MMMMM, Virdis does complain about the number of books I have. I really don't want to lug a bag full of books onto the boat. This might be the perfect time to invest in an ereader. Thanks I'll talk it over with Virdis.



If I don't go for the nook or another ereader, then a book exchange sounds perfect. I read just about everything from mystery, scifi, romance, historical to Oprah's reading list.

Yes...the books are all over the house. On bookshelves, in the closet, in boxes.....just all over. While I like the idea of the ereader, had a small problem with getting a device that only has one primary function. So, we finally switched cell phone providers (good bye T-Mobile ).

Ann now has a Dell Streak Android phone which is running both Nook app and Kindle app. She can also load tons of games off of the Android Marketplace. And she has built in Google Navigation....so hopefully no more calls asking how to get to some teacher workshop. Knock yourself out honey. You got options now.

Boy how do you do it with all those cookies in the house let alone in the front room? Danny would get the gallon of milk out and pull up a chair to the table...he wouldn't come up for air till the table was cleared. Virdis, you must be a saint.

Amen to that. When Ann and Amira told me they were selling girl scout cookies, I thought we would at the most have a dozen boxes in the house. We had hundreds of boxes. It was driving me crazy!!!!! It was like at night when I was staying up late to work, I could hear the boxes talking to me. "Come on Virdis...open me up....it's only $4.....and you will help out your daughter too".

Next year, the boxes stay at someone elses house. I did manage to lose some weight despite the cookies but it was only in the single digits (at least so far). Hope now that the cookies are gone, I can lose more before the cruise

OK...don't get me wrong. I love my kids but since the majority of my family is in Houston, we don't have the built in baby sitting possibilities I would like. The biggest selling point Ann made to get me to agree to this cruise was the fact the kids should (I really hope so) love the kids clubs and be entertained part of the day while we sail. I have no clue to what I will do with all of the free time but, I know I will enjoy having kids occupied.

I just went back and finished checking in and got a check in time of 12:30-1:00 also. I don't remember that being part of the online check in process on previous cruises but it could have been. I can't imagine them turning anyone away who gets there earlier.

I did mine a few days ago and it would only let me select 330. But it said it is not a permanet show up time.

I read that this is something new DCL is trying and that they're not holding people to that time right now. I'm not sure what the purpose is if they're not enforcing the time and actually I don't know what it would be even if they were. I mean, there are lots of people who don't do the on-line checkin and they won't get a time and will just show up whenever they want. In any case, I got a check in time of 11 am and I still plan to be there no later than 10.

We REALLY need some alone time too. So we have been in "Talks" with JoJo about our expectations of him including the time he will spend in the club. It appears that DCL does not shut the clubs down at lunch and dinner so I have already told him that we will let him have a few lunches or dinners with the club, but I will require him to eat most lunches and dinners with his family along with a few shows and some family activities. This is their vacation too.

HaHa, I was thinking the same thing.

I am lucky and my kids LOVE any types of kids clubs or activities. I have to drag them away from the gym kids club. On our last Magic cruise they had a blast and preferred the clubs to me. I have to admit I had no idea what to do with myself a few time. On sea days most likely they will be having lunch in the clubs. I will expect them to come to dinner with us. I am very excited for my DH and I to have nice lunches, see some movies, relax on the decks, hang out in cove cafe, just plain relax. Also hope to run into you guys out and about and chat for a bit. I love to talk!

Ok, I tried on some clothes today that didn't fit last year and they do now. I lost some weight but not as much as I wanted. With 3 weeks to go I don't think I will be at the weight I was hope to be at but at least I am not where I was. So I am happy.

Me too! It's not where I wanted to be but I'm glad that I was able to shed a few pounds. It will help me not feel so bad when I gain a few pounds from the cruise.

On the Med cruise I visited the on board shops to see what they had and unfortunately it wasn't much. You can find some swords and such but no full costumes.

Yes, I did mine and got the same times. It said something about thank you for honoring your times but sadly I don't plan to oblige them. I want to get there early. I'm just too excited and impatient.

I can never get enough of the Disboards. I'm just entering crunch mode. I still have not started my FE's, need to do some shopping, haven't packed and I didn't get to any of it this weekend. My boys baseball and soccer schedules are kicking my but. We had 3 games on Saturday and 2 games plus my nieces birthday today. Next weekend I have games Friday, Saturday and Sunday with 2 or 3 in a day.

Guess I'll be burning the midnight oil during the week to get everything done but the pay-off will be well worth it.

You have many options...Party City.com, DressLikeAPirate.com; or any good sized party store. I am always tweaking my costume...I fell in love with DressLikeAPirate.com...fast shipping and good quality items. They also have an ebay store.

I don't think I was assigned a time - I did my check in over a month ago and don't recall if there was even an option!

I have been busy trying to get my house back in order (that isn't just an expression - I have been having my kitchen renovated, and the WHOLE house painted...I still can't find things!) I literally spent 24 hours just putting all the curio stuff back into the cabinets. Sigh - still so much to do and only one more Saturday to get it done. There is a pin trading event here in NJ just before I leave for Calif.

The Pins 101 power point is almost done, just a bit more tweaking and I should be able to call it done.

CALLING ALL FE Group 1; I'm on the Half part of the list giving out...
I have a big question for those with kiddies!!
I'm breaking all secrets on my craft FE gift for the sake of them going to the right ages of kids since I really only know my 2 girls (4y and 6y).
I'm taking a stab at making bottlecap necklaces and I just made my first 2 last night for my girls and they are pretty darn cute so I think I'll whip some out for the other kids on my FE list, but I have NO IDEA how old or young or even if the little dudes would wear them with their fave Disney characters on them. I'm putting them on colored hemp string that is adjustable, and it hangs from a loop, not a magnet like the super trendy cool ones.

So, help a girl out...If you have a child on the FE Group 1 list that gets a gift from me, the half lister, please tell me if your child...cabin and name would like one of these cutie pie necklaces, and if they do please tell me what kind of graphic/character they like. It doesn't have to be Disney.

Now I feel like I'm asking too much, but it sounded simple in my head when I started. How does that happen?

I am flying down to Portland to give a lecture and flying home the same night...gotta love those commuter flights (but better than a 6hr round trip drive!)
