Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

I found mine on ebay...just got it actually here is a link to the closed auction - but they have more from this seller and others:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140462099138&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

If you have an AC Moore near you - they sell the cloth bags as well - and in the iron on section they have all kinds of Disney images. But, if you want to involve the kids - have each kid do a bag (this includes the BIG kids of course!) by drawing on them, using the foam cut out stuff, stickers etc...and then use zip ties to tie one handle to the next - and make them hang in a column - I saw this on the Dream...worked well!

On the Dream the fish are on one side of the ship, sea horses on the other and the star fish are concierge. The Magic and Wonder have fish on both sides. I think the fish are port, but I am not sure...

We would love to do a group wine tasting and tequilla tasting. That's such a great idea. DH and I are practicing this weekend. We don't want to be slackers! :goodvibes

OK - back to reading the pages I've missed!popcorn::
I started the party early. But I don't like drinking alone, who's with me? :drinking1 But, believe me when I say, I'm usually a teetotaller, so tonight, 1 is enough.
:upsidedow

iPad 2 will be on sale March 11! Just in time for the cruise! I usually enjoy the ability to close my eyes if given the chance on vacation, and limit my screen time since I am probably 75 % of my day in front of some sort of screen.:happytv:

I'm really considering an e reader so I don't have to carry several books on board. Does anyone know if the ipad 2 addressed the sun glare problem?:confused3

We love our apple lap top but have hesitated to purchase an ipad because I would use it outside and sun glare would be a problem.

Back to my wine drinking and dis surfing........

Hope I'm not too late to join you (it's been a rough week) - cheers! :drinking1

Can't help with the ipad question, but wanted to put in a plug for my beloved Kindle. No problems at all reading it in bright sunlight. I read a lot and it's wonderful not having to lug a stack of books on vacation. :)

First of all, a big welcome to all our new cruisers!
And another Thank You to everyone who is helping organize fun stuff for our cruise. :flower3:

RE: Fish Extenders
We were on the cruise that started the whole Fish Extender craze... thank you Debbie! :thumbsup2
I know I still have my original Fish Extender somewhere. It's just like the one Cayla posted, except it's a Mickey Mouse design instead of Pooh Bear. I guess I better start searching for it.

RE: e-readers
I'm having a bit of a hard time adjusting to the idea of electronic books. I love to go to the book store and pick up every edition of a book I'm looking for, and I'm such a doofus I will actually pay more for the one that feels best in my hands. :rolleyes1
But I can see how e-readers make a lot of sense too. DH & I have an anniversary coming up this month. So should I start dropping Kindle hints, or should I just get one for DH... and then load it up with my books so I can try it out on the cruise? ;)

FWIW, I've read that while the resolution on the IPad2 will remain the same, it will have a brighter screen with anti-reflection properties. I don't know if that's been officially verified, or if it's just speculation though. But it will definitely still be an LCD screen, so I would think you would still have some daytime glossiness and nighttime glow issues if you use it to do a lot of reading.

Sheila - Thanks for your thoughts on the ipad - I don't think we will purchase the internet package on this trip so I don't need the web surfing ability. Maybe a Kindle would be fine. :confused3

I have an ipad and a Nook (the original, e-ink kind). I use the Nook for reading, and I bought it specifically to take on trips so I didn't have to carry so many separate books. I have to say, I am always forgetting to charge it, and then get frustrated that my book is out of power. That's definitely not something you need to worry about with regular books! I don't use my ipad for reading, I use it for internet browsing and email, and I bought the 3G version and use it instead of a laptop on vacations. I used it last time we went to DW--I was able to dump the photos from my camera to the ipad and upload to Facebook with the camera add-on kit, as well as keep up on my emails. It probably won't work on the cruise, as I don't imagine there is AT&T coverage at sea or even in Mexico. So I guess my advice would be to go with an e-reader if you just want it for reading, as they are much cheaper and you won't be able to use most of the other capabilities on the cruise anyway.

Kristi, can you add us to the list if you get enough to do a 3rd FE group?

we have 2 girls, 5 & 7 years.

Emily

We bought those same 3 packs last night at Michaels with the same idea to attach them and decorate them. They were only a dollar. Hopefully they will work.

Hi Emily, Welcome!!!

I just started a 3rd list for the FEs and added you. The cut off date for this one will be closer to sailing, so it gives more newcomers a chance to add. When you get a chance, PM me your cabin #, and names of everyone in your party.

Also, there are extra wrist bands if you want them. $1 a band, let me know. Look back a page or 2 for pictures.

Happy 6 weeks till sailing group :cool1::cool1:

Hi Michelle, I have plenty of extra youths. More youth than adult actually. I guess I have an "average" size wrist, it fits me fine but I have to stretch it around my hand. I got your payment, thanks. PM me your mailing address when you get a chance and I will get yours mailed out tomorrow.

Hey Kristi! Please put one youth and one adult aside for me and my son. I will pay you the cash when we meet. Thanks for taking care of everything!

I haven't received my credit of $54. yet. Anyone else with that problem? Do I have to call or was it going to be automatically credited back to credit card?

I have another question, I postd it on the main board but it go buried before it got answered, are juice and milk in the drink station?
thanks Rae

Ours was credited back to my credit card last month. I"m sure if you keep checking it will post. They still have 40 + days to do it. ;)

Rae, they definitely have milk at the drink station. I think they have lemonade, no other juices though. If the buffet is open, on deck 9.They have a juice station inside.

I've seen a pic of the beverages that are carbonated (Coca cola products, including Hi-C) and read too that milk and juices are available, but not in that same grouping where the carbonated drinks are supplied. I don't know what kind of juices but the milk was said to be whole milk. I'm sure they go through a lot of it with a kid-friendly theme onboard. There's also a youtube video on how to use it to make a milkshake (blenderless)... so all the ingredients for a chocolate milkshake are there too. I just know I'm gaining weight this trip!

Hey, Minicoops, I sent you a PM!

Soda, milk, coffee, and hot water/tea are all in the same area on deck 9. You can get juices in Beach Blanket Buffet.

I ordered my FE gifts for most of the adults on Group 1. I spent a bit more than I intended but I think it'll be super cute and something you'll keep beyond the cruise! And I sure hope the names on the spreadsheet are correct because the gifts (one per familly) are all personalized! Now I just have to come up with ideas for the kiddos.

Kristi - Is it possible to add the gender for the kids on the spreadsheet? Some names are common for both and I wouldn't want to give boys bracelets, etc. Also, anyone has ideas for teens???
