Diet Drinks?

I like the following:

diet coke w/lime
diet coke w/lemon
diet dr. pepper
diet hanson's tangarene lime

Plain old Diet Coke (or caffeine free), Fresca, Diet Pepsi Vanilla, Diet Mountain Dew Code Red, Diet Orange Slice, Propel Fitness Water

Here's my trick for when I switched to Diet drinks. Eat pretzels with a diet drink. Do this for about a week and you won't even notice the aftertaste anymore.

I have been off soda for almost 4 weeks now. Totally cold turkey. i don;t miss it now. But the first week was killer. Bad Bad headaches. Now I don't drink anything with caffiene in it. I mainly drink crystal light. And I have lost about 10 pounds! Good luck.

We don't drink any aritificial sugars. When I need something sweet, I dilute fruit juice with water or sparkling water. That makes it have half the calories. I know that most studies show that aspertame and Splenda are safe enough for adults, but they both pass through breastmilk, and none of them have been tested on infants.

Fruit 2 O and Propel Drinker here.

We have had Diet Barq's Root Beer and Diet A&W Root Beer, tastes like original. Just for change from the cola taste.

I have started adding a strong squirt of lemon juice to plain water with lots of ice, and it really helps me drink much more water than I use to.

I've recently gotten hooked on diet Dr. Pepper.

And I have my old diet standbys - diet gingerale, rootbeer, cream soda

And I like the diet cranberry and rasberry gingerales too

I rarely drink any kind of soda. I'm a water drinker and not much of that either. Anyway, to get my dd away from soda I bought the flavored sparkling water. She loves it. Drinks only that, with an occasional soda here and there. Some of the flavors of the water are intense, so you may like them. Alittle like soda and sweetened with splenda.

I discovered several years ago that Aspartame was the cause of my migraines, so I stopped drinking it. The migraines went away! Ever since, I've drank Diet Rite (diet version of RC). It tastes wonderful and didn't "take time to get used to" like other diet drinks do. The cola is my favorite, but I also really love the tangerine. The others are good as well. Be warned, though, that Diet Riet doesn't have caffeine! So if you're one that needs caffeine (I don't intake caffeine at all - gave it up cold turkey about 8 years ago - we won't even talk about THOSE migraines!), then you might want to ease into Diet Rite.

I'm a Diet Coke addict, but it's definitely an acquired taste. When I decided to give up the empty calories in regular Coke, it took me a few weeks before I really started liking Diet Coke taste.... and actually I think I liked Diet Pepsi better in the beginning.

But... the good news is that once you're hooked, you have a hard time going back to regular soft drinks. ;)

I like Diet Rite, too. It's got Splenda so it's not *quite* as bad for you as everything else, though it doesn't have caffeine.

I like Diet Ginger Ale a lot too!

my faves are

diet coke with lime and diet cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper....that just came out and it is soooo good

Soda is my downfall too. I have been trying to drink more water and I found a drink called Sparkling Ice. It is sparkling water with juice and I found it at Costco. It comes in Pink Grapefruit, Orange Mango and Black Raspberry. It is sweetened with Spenda.

I have also found at WalMart the individual serving packets that you put in bottled water. It is their brand of Crystal Light. I love their iced tea with peach. :drinking:

I bought a case of that a while ago and my hubby started drinking it for lunch instead of pop. He started lossing wieght (along with exersising, but no other changes in diet.)

So I started drinking the diet Hansons or Spalking Ice instead of any other pop, but couldn't give up Cola. I did this for a few weeks and then a few days I stopped all regular pop for 4 days. I thought I should gt a before weight and it turns out I lost the last 5 of the baby weight I couldn't get rid off.

I am making the adjustment, but this thread is helping me with no trying every drink out there.

I am going to try the Diet Rite. The other day I couldn't find any 7upplus at Meijers, the whole store was sold out.

I am trying not to drink more then 2 suger free drinks a day, the rest water. (and lots of water.) I can't drink milk so that really limits what you can and can't have. I knew I was taking in way too many empty calories with sugery drinks.

Oh the other thing I found that is good is FUZE. They sell it at cost co also.

I will try the pretzle hint.

Thanks for all the input!

Diet Dr. Pepper
Diet Cherry Coke
Crystal Light Sunrise (the orange one...whatever it's called)
Crystal Light raspberry ice
Wylers light raspberry (sense a theme here? ;) )

I like diet coke with lime, diet cherry coke, diet dr. pepper and diet sierra mist... I also like diet pepsi. I am flexible....

When I was a waitress was when I weighed the most (until now) and I started drinking only diet soda and lost a lot of weight!

I used to be a heavy Coke drinker. I decided I needed to switch to Diet because of the calories. It took a concerted effort for about a week. After that, Diet Coke tasted fine to me. Now I can't stand a real coke. It's like the first time you drink coffee or beer. Yuck! Drink it a few times and before long, you manage to trick your tastebuds into thinking it tastes good. I am now a heavy Diet Coke drinker!

7-UP Plus & Diet Dr. Pepper. I haven't had DDP, since I've been pregnant mainly because it seems to become too syrupy while I'm preg. I do like 7up + and since it's made with Splenda I think it's maybe better than those with aspartame.

Nobody has mentioned (or I missed it) Pepsi One. I can't stand Diet Pepsi but DW and I both love Pepsi One. It has no aftertaste like so many of the other diet sodas. We also love Clear Choice or Clear Splash (depending on the store). Those come in great fruit flavors and are really refreshing, especially in the summer. And I like Fresca, though DW doesn't and I'll admit it doesn't quite go with a lot of foods.

I'm diabetic, so I only drink sugar-free stuff. For cola I usually drink Diet Coke....I can't stand Diet Pepsi (too sweet!) I have no idea why, but the caffeine-free stuff seems to give me headaches. It's not from the lack of caffeine though, because I can go weeks w/o Diet Coke & then have the c/f stuff.

When I was pregnant & nursing DS I was drinking unsweetened flavored seltzer. (lime, black cherry, tangerine) Then we couldn't get it for a while & I switched to the sweetened seltzer from Wal-Mart. I really like their Lime Seltzer....it's sweetened though.

For some bizarre reason, I get the most horrendous headaches from diet root beer - any brand. :confused3 Both of my sisters do too - not migraines, just really nasty headaches.

Oh - and I really, really like PA Dutch Birch Beer. (diet)

One of the only diat drinks I can stomach is Fresca. No real after taste and it is just sweet enough.

Fake sweeteners scare me. Get some silver plate, open a can of coke and drink half. Put the fork/knife or spoon in it. It won't go flat with the silver in it. You can drink the other half tomorrow. OR, you could cut calories somewhere else, like bread or potatoes. I don't drink pop often but when I do, it HAS to be Coke Classic decaf. DH and I sometimes split one of those 20 oz bottles. Is one can a day really that bad?
