That's what I felt like saying to several grown adults today.

I went shopping to 2 malls today,and while in the car,I would take my wig off.
Hey,they're hot,sticky,and sweaty.
Verrry uncomfortable.
But every car and person we passed,they would just stare.

Just because I have no hair doesn't make me any different.
So just stop staring and leave me alone.



Can you tell I'm cranky today?

i know what its like (well not personally)
my sister had cancer, and lost her hair (in my opinion, she looked her most beautiful when it just started to grow back)
As for the staring people, they probably dont understand.
I doubt they have had to come into contact with something like this, so it is strange and new to them.

My friend just found out she has skin cancer on her head. She has to get her hair shaved to get the surgery. At first I was like... i'll shave my hair with you... but then I got to thinking about it. It's a nice concept... I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I give props to anyone living without hair without a choice.

Stay strong. I know a few about your age who are struggling with you.

I know how it feels because once i had blemish problems, and they would turn into blackheads and would people stare at my face at school and i hear them say stuff like omg so ugly look at her face its like pizza! But i feel your pain because noone deserves to be treated just because of the way you look. And you know what i would not care what you looked like, your still nice probably on the inside
And one of my friends also came down with a bad sickness called sickle cell. She knows what its like she feels your pain

schmitty, let me ask you have you ever had anything about you that your were self consious about. Well for a young teen girl I can only imagine one of those things is have hair on their head. And as of right now Sonya has no choice in the matter to be bald or not. People should have some common curtiosy to understand how she must be feeling and what she must be going through when they stare. Sonya is just an average teen who got a bum steer with this Cancer and from what I have read from her posts in the past she is a survivor, but these things are just the things that can bring people down and that is certainly what she doesn't need at this point.

They don't know what her story for her lack of hair is. They just see a teen girl with no hair and think "thats different"

Do you know the difference between a person who shaves there hair and one who loses there hair due to Chemo. If you lined up 100 people and 99 of them just shaved there head and 1 lost there hair due to chemo you would be able to pick that one out in a second.

Did she say they were 10 feet plus away. I think not. She said they were pulled up next to her parents car at a stop light or sign. That is much closer than 10 feet or more away.

I have hardly ever seen him on here until this thread. I know I haven't been around that long, but most of you guys I see on here on a daily basis.
