Didn't really care for T-Rex

The T-Rex restaurant was one place we were looking forward to on our trip. The visuals inside the restaurant were certainly amazing, but it was so loud that we could not hear ourselves think in there. My DW developed a headache before we had finished our meal. We could not talk with each other without yelling across the table. Every 20 minutes there was a meteor shower that was so loud that you couldn't even yell across the table. The food was fair but nothing outstanding. We were seated in the Ice cave and the changing colors combined with the auditory overload was really too much. We couldn't get out fast enough. We have eaten at the Rainforest cafe before and don't remember the experience being anywhere as overwhelming as this. If you are seeking a sensory overload with mediocre food then you should dine here. Otherwise, I would look elsewhere.

It is very loud there and very busy as far as all of the effects. It is great if you have little ones, it keeps them entertained. The food is ok, it is similar to Rainforest, which is better then some places you eat at Disney with kids ( character buffets). If I was not with my DD6, it would not be anywhere I would want to go since it is kiddie central. I am sorry you didn't know what to expect, it is never good to pay to get a headache, it ruins the rest of day.

My favorite thing to do there is get the giant app sampler, a few drinks, and enjoy the atmosphere for about a half hour before leaving and getting dinner in another location.

Sorry the noise was such a problem.

I agree with the OP. Way too loud to enjoy anything. More than one child in the restaurant was crying because they were scared of the animatronics/noises. Too crowded and medicre food. Never again.
