Man, so sorry to hear that! Disney seems to be exercising ROFR on stripped contracts at least as much as those that have points! We're waiting to hear on a VWL contract as well.

Are you going to go on Disney's waitlist or is the $89 per point price tag scaring you off??

just an idea to the stats gods!!

I'm certainly not volunteering but this would not require any statistical analysis. A simple spreadsheet tabulation of Resort, number of points, UY, price per point, number of banked/borrowed points, who paid MFs, who paid closing, and whether or not it passed ROFR would be more than sufficient. It would just require someone to gather the information and perform the data entry - but again no anlaysis is required.

Boy an I sorry to hear that. I guess we got in just under the wire. We were able to get 190 pts. at OKW with no 2004 points and a June use year for $69.00 per pt. It was a good deal for us and it looks like we just made it. We closed in early May and got all our paper work and cards by late June. With our vacation schedules, this is OK, we already have 2 trips planned, one for this year for 3 days to scope out OKW and one just before our 2005 pts. roll in. We are still going to be able to bank quite a few into 2006 or schedule another one for late 2005....smjj

When Disney chooses to exercise the ROFR, do they buy the points? If so, do they then resell these points?

We are looking for an add on for VWL but assumed we could not get this through Disney, only a resale. Does Disney occasionally have points like this available? How much do they sell them for? And is there a waitlist we can get on?

Yes, DVC resells them. There currently is a waitlist available for current members who want to add-on points at the sold out resorts. To get on the list, you need to call your guide and tell him/her what you want. You will be required to give a credit card so that as soon as the points are made available you are charged with the $500 deposit. Then your guide will inform you that you have the points. We just added on at BWV and we waited less than a week. DVC is currently selling the points at the sold out resorts for $89 per point, no special incentives available as with SSR purchases.
