I called today to make my BCV F&W reservations for October before the 7 month window opened up. When the CM told me that I didn't have enough points for my one bedroom I said "Yes I do! Use the one's I banked last October!" To which she replied "You never banked them." OMG!

I went through my notes and sure enough, I didn't bank them. I knew we weren't going again until October 2011 so I was going to bank them then and there, but I didn't, and apparently I never called back to do it. 233 points flapping in the breeze.

The CM knew how upset I was at losing 233 points so she put me on hold to see if she could invoke the super secret one-time banking exception. It was a lonnnnggg few minutes, but when she came back she said they would bank 200 of them--33 of them had been banked the previous year, so if I don't use them I'll lose them. That's a lot better than losing 233!

Thank God for the exception!

I am sure it was a long wait until she came back to the phone! I am glad that everything worked out for you. Enjoy your trip!

And people say MS is only evil.....
This is proof that they are reasonable when we are reasonable!
Congrats on experiencing pixiedust:

NICE!

I can't imagine how low your heart sunk when you realized you hadn't banked those points.

Congratulations on your good fortune

Thanks everyone!

I'm not even telling DH. It was his idea to join DVC and he really pushed for it, but when it came to putting the primary contact down on paper, he said it was all me. Thanks! And it is all me--I'm responsible for the whole flipping thing! This is the first time I flubbed in 10 years, but still. How could I!?

I had a moment like that today when the first CM told me I couldn't bank transferred points. After a quick panic, I did some research on disboards and figured out she was wrong. Second call was a more experienced CM. Now I should have my MK view at BLT!

Word to the wise...
ALWAYS check your account online regularly. That way you will see the banking reminders.

Glad everything worked out for you. Don't be too hard on yourself. It's is so easy to overlook something that isn't an everyday thing.

Yesterday I had to make an emergency run to our bank b/c we switched banks for our automatic mortgage payment and forgot to cancel the other one, so two mortgage payments were deducted from our checking. Yikes!:scared1: Ran down with cash to transfuse until we get it straightened out!

You can always do a ticker to keep you on track!:lmao:

You are so right. I'm always on-line whether for work or just messing around--I should just hop on the member website to check notices and such. I do it all the time when waiting on a waitlist, but never thought to just check on-line when I had nothing going on!

Not to hijack the thread for the op, but I wonder how long in the past DVC will grant the free pass. Back in 2002 (members since 1996) my FIL came to live with us and ended up having some serious issues, getting him settled and well ended up taking all our focus and our points were the last thing on our minds. When everything settled down I called to bank our points explaining why they had been forgotten and basically was told there was nothing that could be done. It would sure be nice to be able to get those 200 pts back but I'm not gonna cry over it if not.
