Did anyone have trouble getting your new DH to wear ears?? (if you did the bride/groom ears)?? My DF is almost refusing...

mine did at our engagement party!

see how happy he looks with his ears on!?! he's a very good sport!!!

Here is the thing about the ears.. When you wear just the "Just Married" Pins, people do not always see it so you do not get noticed as much.. (We tried that out our first day in the parks) On tuesday (our 2nd day in the parks) we wore the ears and everyone was congratulating us! It was great! So you get noticed more when you have the ears on, and I thought I would have a hard time convincing the new husband to wear them, but he wore them proudly! LOL So it is possible to get them to wear them. I am living proof. hehehe

My DH wore them during our reception. We wore them again the day after our wedding when we went to the MK. It was a lot of fun!!!!! The ears were really warm on his head but he was a good sport and wore them all day.

I wore the bride ears and we both wore the pins, but he didn't wear the groom hat. He did get harassed a couple times for it though!

My DH wore the ears when I wore mine. He was not exactly thrilled about it, so we probably wore them for less than half our honeymoon. It was fun when we did wear them, but I didn't want to push it. I was glad he wore them at all :)

Some make a baseball cap with the groom mickey ears on them (taken off from the top hat). Here is our attempt at it. We made them removable so he could take off the ears...but he never did...he liked wearing them for a few days in Disney.

That is the greatest idea and I think i'll have to steal it!! I LOVE it and am sure DF would much rather wear a baseball cap than a mickey ears hat top hat!! Thanks so much and your directions are great!!

DF really wants to get them, he actually got defensive when my mom suggested that our ringbearer should wear them to the wedding. He felt it was his right, and no one elses. I found it cute.

DH wore them 2 of our 4 park days (we did water parks and other stuff on the other days). I wore mine all 4 days. The main reason was because they are too small for most men's heads. They are uncomfortable. I thought it was pretty great of him to wear them at all considering the size issue. Mine were comfortable, so I had them on all the time almost.

Mine wore them the entire day and evening of our wedding. MGM had EMH, so I got several hours of wear on his head out of them. Considering it was August, extrememy hot, and they are too small and hard plastic, I thought he was a good sport. I did wear the bridal ears everyday though. It does help you get noticed.

Oh yes! We both wore our ears every day! I had known for years that I would be wearing bride ears during my Disneymoon. When I met DH, he thought it sounded fun, too! Plus he wanted to get the 'perks' that we kept hearing about! LOL

So my Mom bought us the ears to wear during our wedding shower and for the Disneymoon. And we're so glad we wore them!

Here's why...

-We were given a 'Just Married' balloon when we checked in at POP, that had a little Mickey balloon weight attached to it.
-Free preferred 60s section upgrade at POP
-Mousekeeping (I guess it was Mousekeeping) left us a bouquet of Disney Princess Suckers, a card, and a Disney World wedding picture frame with a singed picture of Mickey and Minnie, along with our towel zoo, on the table in the room.
-I can't even count the number of 'active' FASTPASSES that CMs just handed to us during the week - I guess they were giving us FASTPASSES that people had already turned in.
-Front of the Line passes for Test Track and Mission: Space, and a CM gave us a little card that had Test Track trivia and info on it. He said it was given out on the opening day of TT.
-Free ice cream from the carts(we actually had to start refusing the free ice cream at one point, because we were on the dining plan and needed to use our snack credits!)
-We also were given dessert samplers at several places. At first they offered to give us each a free dessert, but when we told them we were on the dining plan, the brought us out a dessert sampler instead of us just picking one dessert each for the DDP.
-Priority seating tickets for Fantasmic! (Thanks to the manager at Mama Melrose's!-It was a really good area!), and also great seats at Tarzan Rocks, Indiana Jones (we also got to be 'extras' in the show!). CMs would just pull us down to the front and center seats! (This worked out great since we always got to the shows at the very last possible minute! LOL)
-We also got the center window seat at Cinderella's Royal Table (wonderful view of Fantasyland!), and the table was sprinkled with Mickey confetti! Also at Cinderella's Royal Table, our waiter gave us a set of those Cinderella's Royal Table champagne glasses!
-Window seats at dinner at Chef Mickey's - with a wonderful view of the castle! We were also given 'It's My Special Day' placemats. And the waitress sang 'Happy Wedding' to us. It was hysterical! And Minnie acted sad that she didn't have a ring on her finger! But when we showed her the Mickey and Minnie bride and groom pen that we had just bought at a gift shop in the Contemporary, she started acting really excited. It was so funny!!
-We were given several 'Congratulations!' cards at different places we ate at during the week - Boma, Cinderella's, Chef Mickey's
-We got to ride up front on the monorail several times
-When we picked up our free Magical Wishes button at Downtown Disney (that another CM at Goofy's Candy Co. told us about), the CM there also let us listen to a special congratulations message from Mickey and Minnie!
-Lucky the Dinosaur stopped to talk to us! It was so cool! We're not sure if it was our ears, or just random. We got this on video - I still can not believe it! DH loves dinosaurs, and we had one stop and visit with us on our Disneymoon!
-At several of the indoor theater attractions, the CM would come up to us and ask our names, then they would announce our marriage over the loud speakers! I know this happened at It's Tough to be a Bug, Muppets, Philharmagic, and a couple of others.
-We were given our own boat on Maelstrom, El Rio del Tiempo, Small World, and Pirates of the Caribbean-this was so romantic!
-Many of the characters in the parades would wave at us and give us the thumbs up or point to their ring fingers. The Fairy Godmother did this right when she was talking about true love. Plus many other characters would make a big deal out of our ears! It was so cute!
-TONS of guests and CMs told us 'Congratulations', and many guests would offer us their seats on the bus, or on the boats or whatnot.

It was a completely magical experience to be treated like VIPs the whole week of our Disneymoon. We went with the knowledge that we could possibly not even get one bit of pixie dust; we just thought the ears were a fun thing to do. Now DH is always saying that we should wear the ears every time we go! LOL

Another option is to get the black baseball cap that says "groom" on it. You can order it online or get it at David's Bridal. There's some pics in my trippie, I think (linked in my sig). If your DF doesn't want to wear it, I wouldn't make him. Like someone said, the men's hats are much more uncomfortable than the lady version.

we wore our ears at the rehearsal/ rehearsal dinner and all througout our Disneymoon! I'm so proud my DH was such a good sport. We had a blast!

DH wouldnt take his off every opportunity he got he had them on which really suprised me lol Bless him

My husband was a good sport and wore them on parts of our honeymoon. Like others have said, they are really small, and looked really uncomfortable, so I didn't push it too much. We wore them about half of the time, and those are some of my favorite pictures. Where else can you go and get that kind of attention for being on your honeymoon?!?! We wore the "just married" pins every day, all day. We got several freebies, most of them when we were wearing the ears just beacuse they are more easily recongized.

I plan to wear my bride ears lots that week but I don't expect DF to want to wear his - he's not into being the center of attention!! I already have mine (they were a shower gift from a disney loving aunt) and I still plan to buy him the hat even if he only wears it for a few pics after the wedding!
