Hi ladies -

Can you share any insight on whether or not your hair and makeup lasted all day?

Hair question:
I have very thin, fine hair that doesn't hold a curl normally and I'm wondering if the professional stylists have some secret :wizard: to make the style last all day? How did this work out for you?

Makeup:
I have combination skin and I often end up shiny after a few hours, so I'm wondering how long my makeup will stay fresh? Also, I'm a cryer! :scared: Someone warned me against airbrush makeup because I won't be able to touch up tear streaks. Can anyone offer advice on this?

So many of the brides have sung the praises of Ana and Patricia, so I wanted to know in a little more detail about how the actual makeup and hairstyles lasted during the course of your day.

Do both Ana and Patricia offer airbrush and/or "regular" makeup?

As always, I appreciate any info you can share! :flower3:
thanks,
Leah

My hair lasted until I rode the Rockin' Roller Coaster the next day! Lets say Bride of Frankenstein. Would have lasted a lot longer if I didn't ride. I had an updo, so I can't really comment about curl. I don't think stylists have any secrets for keeping curl in really fine hair that doesn't curl. My mom has hair like that.

My make-up stayed fine. I did it myself. I only got my hair done.

I have to agree - nothing is going to keep curl in fine, thin hair all day. Have you considered an updo with big, soft curls? Those could be pinned in place and would give the appearance and volume of loose curls without the maintenance.

Both Anna and Patricia offer airbrush makeup and regular makeup. I know Patricia also does mineral makeup. If airbrush foundation is applied to look natural, you shouldn't be able to see tear streaks in it - it's not a thick, smeary layer like regular foundation. In fact, it kinda feels like you aren['t wearing makeup!

I have combination skin too, and my airbrush makeup (plus setting spray) lasted from 5:30am til after our dessert party ended at 9:30pm. I touched it up with blotting tissues and some loose powder between the reception and the dessert party.

Usually I'm an oil slick by the end of the day, but at most I was "glowy" during the dessert party. Granted, it was February and the daytime temps were in the 70s. If you're getting married in July, your results may vary! :teeth:

I actually have to disagree about the curls.

I have very fine hair, and when I do my own hair, the curs fall right out after about an hour. But when Ana did my hair - it stayed from 6am until I took it out at 5pm. And i mean really stayed, here are 2 pictures for comparison - one is is my room when she first did it, and the other one is at the end of the day, after the outdoor ceremony, and tons of dancing at the reception - and a lot of sweating! There is virtually no difference in my hair :

Ana pretty much sprayed every strand of hair as she curled it, and I had a ridiculous amount of bobby pins (which you cant see) but my hair stayed!

Ana just used regular makeup for me. Since it was 95 degrees the day we had our wedding, I will say that my make up stayed fairly well. I was a bit shiny after our ceremony and pictures since they were all outside and it was already super hot by 9am.

I agree Ana and Beaute Speciale are the way to go. My hair and make up lasted all day from 11am to 10pm. I didn't even use the touch ups that they left. My mom is a huge cryer as well. She cried from the moment my veil went on until the end of the day and her make up didn't move.

here is me and my mom first thing in the morning.

my hair was still in place and curly and my make up stayed he entire day and next day as well!:thumbsup2

jsphan and aduck you've given me hope! I have fine hair that hardly ever holds a curl but it seems like if anyone can do it Ana can! I'm going to have a trial in March to be sure. ;)

I had Ana do my make-up for our engagement pics which were in June during the massive heat wave last summer. We were outside for about 1 1/2 - 2 hours taking pictures and then went to Cali Grill for dinner.

I used the regular make-up. I normally have very oily skin and it was really really hot and I was sweating but the only part that needed touching up was my nose which I thought was pretty good. Even with the regular make-up she will set it with a water proof spray. My make-up looked great for the rest of the night. For the wedding I plan to do airbrush since I heard it's lighter and will stay a little better.

Here's a pic of my make-up.

Thanks to everyone who's posted so far! You'll all given me hope that there's a chance for my fine hair and oily skin! LOL!

I'm getting married in February and one of the drivers behind that is that neither one of us wants to be sweating or oily-looking in the photos! :rotfl:

If others have experiences to share, I'd love to hear more!

Thanks again! :upsidedow
