Please forgive my ignorance, but can someone explain to me how so many (I've been noticing it here and on FB) have voted early? Isn't election day today?

What conditions have to be met that would allow one to vote early?

Mailed in my ballot 2 weeks ago.

@ Topolino, in Montana we don't have to meet any conditions. We can just go down to our County Elections office, fill out some paperwork and show ID, and request a mail-in or Absentee ballot. A month or so before Election Day, your ballot comes in the mail and you fill it in and mail it back. As long as you keep voting in each election, and checking a box on the envelope that says "Please send me ballots for all subsequent elections" they keep sending you ballots. If you skip an election, you get dropped off the Absentee rolls and have to start the process all over again.

You seriously equate voting for someone who is less than an ideal candidate with the violation someone experiences after a rape? maybe you should just go straight home and not vote if its really that painful for you

Out of your voting area today. Caring for a dependent. No transportation today. Medical condition. All sorts of reasons. No proof needed here.

It is hyperbole, perhaps exageration. I also feel like I need a rape shower after paying $4 for a gallon of gas. It's just an expression I heard once on Opie and Anthony and found it funny so I use it, it's even in the Urban Dictionary. No need to call the wambulance.

In Nebraska early voting started Oct 1. The same conditions that apply for voting on "election day". You don't have to provide a reason to vote early.

I usually vote early. I do it when it convenient for me and it's a nice weather day.

DW and I voted at 8:30 this morning, with a wait of about 15 minutes. The line was longer when we left the polling place. Indiana's polls close at 6:00 pm and will probably be the first state called for a candidate. We are definitely not a battle ground state, this time. Indiana has early voting, but I like to vote on election day. We have to show our picture ID, which everyone that I saw, had it ready.
