Voted early last week. I don't like voting early, like to do it on the day but they were asking people to vote early to control fraud at the poll. Easier to watch if fewer voters.

It took 90 minutes from the time I got in line to the time I cast my ballot. There seems to be a lot of enthusiasm for voting in the District of Columbia, which is terrific!

Can't. I'm not American. Frustrating with local elections like School Committee and Town Counselor and budgets, etc...but it has gotten me out of some uncomfortable political conversations lately!

Aren't the statistics something like only 20% of Americans actually vote?

I voted early this morning w/ a 40 minute wait. I usually go during the day or after work and don't have to wait more than 5 minutes.

I hated having to wait, but DD's Volleyball team has made the regional tournament!!! and they have a game 1 hour away tonight, so no time to vote after work.

Please forgive my ignorance, but can someone explain to me how so many (I've been noticing it here and on FB) have voted early? Isn't election day today?

What conditions have to be met that would allow one to vote early?
