did you take your tree down yet?

we took ours down yesterday (friday). normally we wait until new years day, but just felt like having everything packed up and back to normal.

You mean.....it has to come down? :scared1: When did this start? Why didn't I get the memo? And why am I covered in Candy Canes?:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Sooo many questions....:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I am packing away the Christmas decorations today and tomorrow. The trees will come down last, since they go up first. That way, next year the boxes will be in the right order in the attic.

Mine isn't coming down until the middle of January. :)

My trees aren't in the way, and I love how they illuminate my house. :goodvibes

Absolutely not. It needs to be up, along with the rest of the decorations and outdoor lights, until New Year's Day. Then it all can come down anytime after that, probably the weekend after. I like to turn the tree and other lights on for New Year's Eve. I just don't understand people who take their tree and other decorations down either Christmas night or the next day, so sad. :(

It came down December 27th. Usually it's on the curb on the 26th, but we were feeling extra "jolly" this year!:thumbsup2

I took it down yesterday afternoon. I was SO torn. I do hate to see it go because it makes the room seem so "warm." The outside stuff is still up. I don't know when it will come dowm.

My Nannie (great grandmother) always said it's bad luck to take the tree down before New Year's Day. My mother has been known to leave hers up until after my birthday (Jan. 12th)!

DH would love for me to agree to take it down on before NYD, but it's not going to happen :dance3:

Ours will all come down on January 6th.

Our tree is the only indoor Christmas decoration still up now. The outside stuff gets turned off and taken down New Years day.

We put ours up Thanksgivng weekend and I undecorated it on Dec 26. DH took off the lights and brought it outside this morning, and the needles are all cleaned up. Everything looks so nice and uncluttered!

I always wait till Epiphany to take it down, but we arent having anyone over for New Yrs or the Sugar Bowl , so I think im going to do it today. I will leave the nativity up though. Next to go up is the MARDI GRAS decorations WOO HOO!! I love pulling out the purple, gold and green.

:dancer: :dancer: :dancer: (im doing the mardi gras mambo lol)

No, but I have an artificial tree. I was always brought up that it was bad luck to take it down before New Year's. :confused3 I don't know who came up with that, but it is a tradition I've held on to.

It will come down New Year's day though. I am ready to have my house back to normal.

I do this too.....I'm thinking we grow up in the same area of the country. I was raised in Grand Rapids Michigan

We always take it down AFTER New Years Eve...usually New Years Day. I always remember my Gran telling me it was bad luck to take it down before the New Year has been rung in!:flower3:

When I was growing up, we didn't take our tree down until after January 7 (??...around then), because we had to wait for Three Kings Day or something like that.
Us too. I took one tree down last night. The boys' tree is still up in the basement family room. I'll get to that one in a day or too - or tonight if I'm feeling ambitous.

Mines gone, DH is upset, we're not throught the official 12 days of Christmas yet.

Mine came down the day after Christmas! :cool1: All the indoor Christmas stuff is packed up and hauled back to the shed. I am so glad.

I like Christmas but when it's over, I am always ready for it to be gone. lol

One more friend coming to see the tree, changed to tonight  then it can come down :cool1:
