Did you take your 2 year old girl to a Princess meal?

Wondering if people out there think it is worth it for a 2 1/2 year old.
we are doing Chef mickey and we are doing Crystal palace. Our daughter LOVES Ariel but is not that into the other princesses yet.
How about your daughters??? did they like it and which one did you do?

DD was 3 1/2 when we went. She is a princess in every way, but LOVES Ariel (princess and mermaid). Akershaus was terrific and Ariel spent a good amount of time talking to DD. I don't know who much of it she will remember when she gets older, but we have pictures and it was as much a memory for Dh and me as for her

first time when my daughter had just turned three. She really enjoyed the experience while she was there. She was so fixated on Snow White while she was there that she pretty much ignored Belle when she came around. She remembered a little bit of the experience later in the year but not nearly all of it. We, of course, remembered it all.

We went again the next summer just prior to her birthday. This time she knew all of the princesses well enough and has remembered the meal for the last couple of years.

We'll be going to CRT again this June.

Don't expect your daughter to remember the meal that well. A video and/or still camera will help with that later. You will remember it well enough for both of you though.

If you'll be back in the next few years wait. You will both enjoy the experience and have memories then. The meals you've booked should be great and the princesses are fairly available in the park and visible in the Spectromagic parade.

Unless the menu is something your really want on this trip, I'd wait.

Our girls (2 & 3) were not too thrilled with the other characters but they enjoyed Akurshus I booked it again for later in the week. They were just as happy the second time! They were so cute, tottally in awe of the princesses. they are still talking about it and we are going agin next month.

Our first trip our youngest was 2yrs old and we did Akershus princess meal (so totally naive we just walked up and they got us in. We didn't know a thing about this board or ADR's or anything back then- spur of the moment trip over Christmas holiday also LOL) -she loved it.

But she liked princesses even back then.
She became OBSESSED with princesses- especially Cinderella- after that though. LOL
She turned 3 during our next trip- and we went to CRT- she loved it! The rest of us weren't so thrilled with the food, etc. though. We haven't been back there.

I'd HIGHLY recommend the princess/etc. dinner at 1900 Park Faire though. We've gone to that several times and the kids really enjoy the characters (even the older ones- there's even Prince Charming for DS! hehe) and the food is better (IMO) and the atmosphere is just more relaxed/etc. I think maybe we just like not being crammed up next to other tables and prefer dinner meals rather than breakfast. The breakfast ones are nothing special really- and we just don't like to eat much in the morning so it seems like it's really not worth the money. We've never felt it wasn't worth the money at 1900 Park Faire. Our youngest also really loves seeing Fairy Godmother out in the waiting area before going in... she's had some special moments with her there.

But if she's only into Ariel anyway- she can just see her at Ariel's Grotto, right? And save all that money.

Do it. My DD4 had her first princess character dining experience at 26 months, and she loves to look back at the pictures. She loved (and still does) all the princesses. We did Akerhaus and CRT that trip. The princess interaction was better at Akerhaus but you can't beat eating in the castle which was perfect for my DD as Cinderella was the first princess movie she watched.

We're doing 1900 Park Fare for the first time in 11 days. I've heard great things about that one too.

Only bad thing about Ariel's grotto is you have to get there early or the wait can be pretty bad. Of course there's no guarantee Ariel will be at a character meal either. "Characters are subject to change without advance notice."

My DD was also 26 months. She knew Belle, Cinderella and Ariel at that time, but none of the others. We went to Akershus and the pictures we have are priceless! We bought her a princess dress, but she wasn't too sure about wearing it, until we walked in and saw Belle. She wore her dress for the rest of the day...and nearly every day since - and it's been 5 months!

I think she just couldn't believe that the princesses were REAL! She stood next to our table the entire meal so that she was able to peer around the corner to watch the princesses move through the room. It was, by far, my best memory of our last trip.

I would definitely encourage you to go!

e may try the one in Epcot this time. We are trying to make very limited ADR's. We already have crystal palace. My dh wants to try Prime time and would also like to do crystal palce for supper also. I told him I thought he didn't want to schedule. I will try to figure it out this afternoon and call.

I took our then 3 year old to the Norway breakfast and it was the best experience ever...sure she barely ate two bites of food but the look on her face when Ariel came to see her was worth double the price...three years later and she still remembers that day

Our DD was almost 3 when we had our last trip. I didn't do a princess meal b/c when it was ADR time (180 days then), she wasn't into princesses at all yet. Well, by the time of the trip - she was. But she was thrilled just to go meet them in Toontown - no extra cost there!

We're heading back in May, she'll be just 5 and her and I are doing CRT lunch - she can't wait!!

If you'll be going back within a few years, maybe just wait?

DD was 2yrs and 10 mths on her 1st WDW trip. Lunch at Akershus was her 1st character meal. She absolutely went nuts over the Princesses We also did Tusker House and Crystal Palace, but I think she liked Akershus best. She saw Belle, Alice, Cinderella, Ariel and Jasmine. I think 2 is a great age for the Princesses. My DD is not scared of any of the characters, but I think kids that are were doing better with the Princesses because they have normal faces. Also, my DD saw a couple of Belles and Cinderellas during the trip and never questioned why their faces looked a little different. I think when they get older, they start wondering why they see more than 1 and they look different or why they don't look exactly like the people in the Movie. At 2,the Princesses are still completely real. Be careful though- ever since we left Disney in December, DD has been all Disney Princess all the time.

Same here.. you should see our youngest DD's room. Disney Princess alert should warn you before you wander in there! LOL
But it's not all a bad thing- she's been my strongest supporter of WDW/DCL trips and while DH might be able to tell me no- he has a harder time telling her no... wrapped around her little finger is an understatement.
