Did you spend Thanksgiving at WDW?

This was our family's third trip to WDW during the Thanksgiving week. I could not believe the crowds. I don't think we will be visiting during this time again. We managed to do everything we really wanted to, but I was surprised how crowded the parks were this visit. What did you think of the crowds?

Hi,

We spent our first Thanksgiving at WDW over this last Thanksgiving also and we found the crowds to be larger than what we encounter when we visit during Jan or Sept but no worse than what we deal with if we visit during the summer months. We had Thanksgiving Dinner at 50's Prime Time Cafe and enjoyed it very much. We are strongly considering visiting during this time of year again.

We arrived the evening before Thanksgiving. That night we went to EMH at MK and had a BLAST!! We stayed until almost 2 am! We didn't arrive until about 11 pm, but things were walk ons. We did the same thing last year. We spent Tday at MGM and had lots of fun - no crowd problems. We saw the Osborne lights that evening and it was perfect. Last year was a mob scene compared to this year.

Friday we did Epcot and I thought it was pretty hideously crowded. Sat MK, which was OK but more crowded than I enjoy. Sunday we did MK and the party that night. We had lots of fun and I thought it was much less crowded than the first party last year.

Monday we ventured back to Epcot and it was not nearly as crowded as Friday. My girls and I extended our stay an extra 3 nights, went to MK on Tuesday (great) and AK on Wednesday (mobbed), MK Wednesday evening for EMH (fun) and then MK on Thursday again (pretty crowded). I really like going late in the day or in the evenings. That plan has worked well for us and a little help from TGM on which days would be better than others. ;)

Even though it was crowded, I really enjoy this time of year for the weather (much better than northern IL) and the decorations. We have gone at all times of the year from least crowded January to summer, but we still always have so much fun no matter what.

I was there the week before Thanksgiving and the week of Thanksgiving. It was dead until exactly one week before thanksgiving. Then the crowds just boomed. I was there last week and it was pretty busy at POR, the resort was close to sold out.

We went to
Wednesday 11/23-MK Busy but do-able with fast passes.
Thursday 11/24 MGM - Not nearly as bad as I thought. The longest waits I saw was about 40 minutes.
Friday 11/25 - Epcot - BUSY!! The wait for Soarin was 150minutes and they were out of fast passes before 10:30am
Sat 11/26 - DTD - What do you expect it will be like at ANY store Thanksgiving weekend?
Sunday 11/27 - AK - Longest wait of the day was 10 minutes for the safari. Everything else was walk-on.
Monday - 11/28 - Epcot/MGM - I think the wait for Soarin was 40 minutes around noon. EMH at MGM was great. We walked onto everything!!
Tuesday - 11/29 MK - We had tickets for MVMCP but went early and was were able to walk-on the Jungle Cruise at 2pm. The longest wait I saw was 30 minutes for Space Mountain.

I've been in WDW during the Thanksgiving weekend and it was a mad house. I don't think I'll be visiting during that time frame again, either.

I'm glad you got to see everything you wanted to, though.
