Saw it last night with DD ( luckily I bought the tickets online Sat. morning because all shows were sold out except for 11:00 pm) Great movie Echo comments about Ellen Degeneres-she was awesome. I don't think I could pick out one best part-the whole movie was great!!!!

My husband and I went to see this yesterday afternoon and really enjoyed the movie. He thought that this was the first movie in a long time that came close to Lion King quality.

wow!!! dh and i saw it last night. what a GREAT movie! dh and i botha greed that it is our favorite pixar release so far. we were both laughing so hard at certain points.

We loved it as well! There were quite a few jokes that went over the kids' heads though. DH and I were the only ones in the theater that laughed when they said the name of the camp. I don't think anyone else caught it.

My FIL called on Friday about taking the kids to see this on Saturday. I said, "but what about me?" So on Saturday I went with the inlaws, my two daughters (age 8 and 4.5) and my niece (age 4) to see it. We all loved it!

The theater was packed but it got so quiet once the movie started. The girls never looked away from the screen. I got teary towards the end of it.

I think Pixar out did themselves with this one. I will difinitely buy it when it is out on DVD.

DH and I saw it this morning at a 10:30 showing. The 1st 10:30 showing was sold out, so they added another.

Thanks to all of you (& thousands more not registered on the DIS), Finding Nemo raked in an estimated $70.6 MILLION dollars over the weekend! WOW!!!

Let's keep it going, DIS'ers. This is great FAMILY entertainment movie that everyone can enjoy! Keep going back to see it! It might even get Oscar contention (outside of special effects) for Best Picture like Beauty & The Beast!!!

All in all, a MOST EXCELLENT adventure, DUUUDE!!!!

I went to the 12:01 AM (midnight) showing 5/30 on the Magic. Though the place was packed, as were all the other showings the rest of the day (obviously many people had to have gone more than once), I wasn't all that impressed. Considering the marketing hype leading up to this, I expected much more and was disappointed.

The Pixar storyline of someone getting lost and trying to get home is becoming very old and tiring. The animation was good, but, overall, I don't think this picture was in the same league as Toy Story or Monsters, Inc. by any means.

Later that day, during our disembarkment meeting, when the cruise director asked how many people enjoyed the movie, the applause meter had a feeble movement at best. I think that most people older than 10 weren't too excited about it.

Just goes to show you what heavy marketing, relying on your past successes, and having the only children's movie playing can lead to.

We, too, were at the 12:01AM showing aboard the Magic last week and we, as well as everyone we talked to then and afterward, LOVED IT!!!!

Heck, I fell asleep during Monsters, Inc.! And, given the late hour of Finding Nemo, I was still wide awake afterward, it was so entertaining!

By the way, some of you expressed that you really like Crush, the sea turtle. His voice is Andrew Stanton's (the director and writer of the movie).

Sorry you were unhappy slyhubby. At least you were on the Magic. Lots of other fun things for you to do.

I thought it was a wonderful movie. Guess it all depends on your taste. I loved all the jokes aimed at the parents. Parts of it had me almost rolling on the floor. I thought the use of color and the animation was great. Maybe I'm easy to please? I don't think so, but maybe.

I really liked this movie. I want to go see it again and so do the kids. Tired theme or not, it is a well-made, enjoyable family film. Can't wait to buy this on DVD and try to wear it out!!

I have to agree just a bit with those who may not have thought that this fillm was just SOOOOO fantastic, as it was hyped up to be. YES - the CGI bacgrounds were completetely AWESOME!!!! And, as they said in the movie "Catch me if you can", it is easy to overlook things when 'looking at the stripes'.

1. Yes, the plot was lacking... Same plot as Toy Story, but NOWHERE near as entertaining. Also, to many just plain weird plot twists - a huge whale just appears completely out of the blue, unrelated to anything else in the story, and 'deposits' Nemo's father and Dory right smack in the middle of Sydney Harbor??????

2. Sorry, but this was also NO little mermaid... Where where the truly memorable characters like Sebastian, King Triton, and Ursula. Okay, Dory was GREAT!!! But that was definately due to Ellen Degeneres hilarious, very talented, and touching performance!!! Not due to the Character with a strange memory flaw?????? Heck, there was not even a big happy musical number like "Under the sea"?????

3. The characters themselves... Okay this is a childrens movie.... Characters like a neurotic dad, a sadistic dentist, a friend with a serious problem with memory loss.... And kids are supposed to enjoy this? Ummmm??????

As far as character development... They never did develop any sense of love and feeling between Nemo and his father. At least I did not think so. I can think of sooooo much that I would have liked to see in that regard. Where were the flashback scenes of the two of them in a close relationship together? Where were the scenes where they were both sorry about how they had contributed to Nemo being 'lost'? Oh, I know there was a slight comment or two... I am sorry, but I came away with greater feeling about the relationship between Dory and Nemo's father? Like when Dory pleads for him not to leave her.


4. The 'FUN' Factor... As I had read, No, Nemo never does have nearly as much fun 'under the sea' as Ariel did!!! Sorry, but a 5 year old simply just does not catch on to humor like "Sharks anonymous" There were very very very few scenes that were 'fun' for kids. Nemo smacking the boat when ordered not to... Going off to school riding on a big friendly ray.... Not enough to make a kids movie IMHO..... Sorry, but my DS (and the boy sitting next to him) had a complete BLAST and was happy and laughing all thru the trailers and stuff BEFORE the movie ever started... After that - nothing. Just fear of the scary parts.... DS walked out of the theater saying he wanted to see "Daddy Day Care" !


Okay, some may flame me on this... Hey that is okay... This is just my opinion... but here on the DIS I found this opinion obviously lacking, so I just had to thow this in.

Maybe this movie is lacking "fun" factor for little ones. I can't really say for sure since my group ranged from 12 years to 44 years. We found it to be loads of fun. I saw lots of little kids at our showing that seemed to be having a good time. In fact we were surrounded by little people and the whole crowd applauded at the end. It's been a long time since I heard that response. I read the sale of tropical fish has skyrocketed since it opened, leading me to believe that a lot of people liked it.

I guess I don't understand why just because Disney makes a film it has to appeal 100% to the preschool crowd or it's not a success. This one may have been geared a little older, although my friends who have little ones said their children loved it. It's a little scary at times, but many of the Disney films are. Captain Hook and Malificent made me shake in my shoes when I was little.

I love The Little Mermaid, but Nemo was funnier for an adult in my opinion. I don't laugh out loud when I watch Ariel. They are just 2 very different kinds of movies. I like the Disney films with the big musical numbers that stay in my head for days, but I don't feel that they are the only kind Disney should make. I'm not trying to start an arguement. I just think variety is the spice of life.

I had posted a similar opinion as Wishing on a Star and Slyhubby on a different thread about Nemo. Bottom line: I will enjoy this movie again on DVD, but it can't rank above the Toy Stories and Monsters, Inc, all three of which we had to see mutiple times at the theater. I don't think we'll do that with Nemo. Doesn't stop us from trying to collect all the McDonalds Happy Meal toys, though!

We FOUND Nemo at the fourth McD's, by the way, after the first three had apparently lost him!

Wonderful movie for the whole family, the whole planet. Any dentists out there explain the "tech talk"?

We recently saw the 3-D Titanic documentary, & Nemo gives you that real underwater feel.

Every film that Disney makes does not have to appeal 100% to the preschool crowd. ( haven't heard anyone say that....)

For example, I did not expect Treasure Planet to be that 'preshcool' type of a movie. I did, however, expect a movie about a cute little 5 year old ( in human terms anyhow. LOL!!!!) Kindergarten aged fish named Nemo to have a much greater appeal to the younger kids.
