I'm kind of with eclectics...the pic looks off, and when I google it, nothing comes up but that one guy's web page. I'm not saying it's NOT him, but I'd like to see it confirmed.

If it is him, he looks trashed in the pic. Even if it's not him, he looks trashed!

No it's not funny, and yes it does matter who it is, because some here have basically found someone guilty who may, in reality, be totally innocent. Hopefully someone will have some more info on this.

There was some guy on Bourbon Street that had that costume. I didn't really think his was too inapropriate. He was dressed like the Croc Hunter, but was carrying around a small stuffed animal stingray. No blood or anything. It really wasn't offensive and I thought it was cute. I took it more as he may have really liked the croc hunter and wanted to pay him homage. Maybe the guy was doing as a joke, but I didn't see it that way.
Now, the Bill Marh thing is gross what with the spine and blood...

I agree, eclectics, it most definatly does matter if someone is being falsly accused of such a thing! I've always liked Maher and find it hard to beleive he'd do such a thing. He IS controversial, I don't agree with him on everything, but he has never struck me as a guy who is insensitive to other people, especially since Mahr is an enviromentalist and Erwin worked so hard with conservation. It just doesn't add up. I'm not saying he didn't do it, just that I find it hard to beleive and that I'll wait for confirmation from an independant second source.

I was quick to judge in a previous post and decided to look on Yahoo and could only find a link back to this man's blog. He is in connection with TIME in partnership with CNN and he is listed under a column as Analysis and Opinion

So, I don't know if the picture is real or not It's sick either way

He is a conservative columnist. He is also Gay. He was on Larry King one night. He had a very interesting philosophy. Didn't make sense to me, but more power to him. Irresponsible of him though, I think, to just plop a controversial photo on his home page and offer no links or explanation for it.

No link I clicked on went to any reputable text whatsoever. His board folk say he looks "weird". I still say it doesn't make sense to me.
