Dear Disney Vacation Club Member,

Today we’re excited to share that Disney Vacation Club® is officially launching a new hotel-booking tool through Interval International®. This new option represents a dramatic expansion of vacation and exchange possibilities, adding even more power to eligible Members’* points and giving you more vacation options than ever before!

Beginning on Monday, this online, self-service tool will curate a list of properties using a combination of points** and cash. Hotel exchange features hundreds and hundreds of well-known hotels from trusted brands in sought-out cities across New York City, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, London and many more! Members can even search available hotels by desired travel dates and destination, filter by brand, and calculate required vacation points.

While the previously offered exchange accommodations through Concierge Collection will no longer be available, most of the luxury resorts that were part of the collection are offered within this new hotel exchange.

Please note that confirmed Concierge Collection reservations will be honored.

We’re delighted to continue to provide you and your family with a whole new world of vacation possibilities!

Sincerely,
mail

Bill Diercksen
Senior Vice President and General Manager
Disney Vacation Club and Aulani

*Ownership interests must be purchased directly from Disney Vacation Development, Inc. in order to have access to Disney-branded exchange options and options offered through hotel exchange.

**Minimum of 20 points.

Starting point is at 20(kind of high) for one night. What if that's for a low end category 1 level (Motel 6) o_O . I guess I'll have to see on Monday.

So a quick google search and hotel exchange isn’t new to interval and it does seem like a loser.

I am interested to see what this is all about. I used RCI once in 2015 for a trip to Cape Cod, points were low, hotel was nice. It was a definitely a good use of my points. I always felt like I could navigate RCI and would check there once in awhile.
I found the switch to II not good. It was hard to figure out how to use and it seemed that only 7 day trips available. Now I may be wrong. But that what I deducted from my research on the site.
So, I am interested to see what has changed and what is being offered.

Note that the description says “a combination of points *and* cash.” I’ll be interested in how much cash we need to kick in for this, too.

I bought after the first round of resale restrictions so I didn't qualify for the Concierge collection that this new offering is replacing, but I received this email. So maybe I'll be able to use it?
I remember there was a New York Hotel that had cheap points mid week and ridiculous cost for week ends. If I can hunt for a bargain it could be fun.
Some of the II Gateways are very reasonably priced (others not so much).

Yeah, this replaces Concierge but that never seemed a good way of spending points, better to rent out expiring points and then buy a trip independently of DVC.

well, they do leave a light on for you

And curious if $95 fee would be applicable to even a 1 night stay.

Lately, with these pre announcement-announcements, disney marketing has been such a tease

Good thing that they leave the light on you can see the bugs better and the dirt o_O o_O
I don't know if f we have to pay the $95 fee I would assume so.

Looks like the new hotel exchange option part of the site is up....but actual inventory isn't live quite yet. The whole II DVC website got what seems to be a mostly cosmetic overhaul. The search engine for the new hotel exchange seems to be pretty straightforward. Will be interesting to see if there will be any decent values.

Do you mind sharing where you stayed? We used to LOVE Cape Cod and I was looking at all the hotels there the other night when we got this Email. We used to rent a cottage there every summer when we lived in Massachusetts. DS just tempted me by posting photos on Facebook of his trip down there last week.

Has anyone found out where you find the # of points you use at different hotels? I saw the lists, but couldn't figure out the specifics of cash/points and different size units.

I will try to find the place. That was through RCI, it may not be available thru II. The trip also was in 2015.👍🏻💫✨

We only use points for DVC stays as the cost in points for any other use is just too high....upon first glance this new option appears to be a non starter for us.
