Did you or your kids have a sandbox?

my older dd had one. It is messy but they do have fun. I don't like those ones at the public park. They just skeeve me out.

My kids had one and they loved playing in it for hours. We did have a cover just to keep things out when not is use.

I had a sandbox when I was a kid - my DD had a turtle one when she was younger. Actually that turtle was a great investment as we still use it. DD isn't "into" sandboxes anymore, but that thing makes a GREAT pool for the dog to lay in & it keeps her out of the big pool!!!

Nope. No sandbox here and I will never get one. Cats peeing in it (covered or not) and sand mites are two big reasons why. I am not a germaphobe but sandboxes are gross. We go to the beach when we want to play in the sand. I also would not let them play in anyone else's sandbox either. To me it's right up there with public ballpits. Just about everyone I know feels the same way so we don't run into any sandboxes.
