Did you (or will you) tip extra on the Dining Plan?

Do you tip extra above and beyond the 15% to 18% included in the dining plan?

  • No, I hardly ever tip extra.

  • Yes, I usually tip extra, unless the service is substandard.

  • I tip extra on rare occasions when the service is truly exceptional.

  • It depends, sometimes I tip extra, sometimes I don't.

  • I am more likely to tip extra when the included tip is only 15% vs. 18%.

  • If I split a meal with another adult, I almost always tip extra.

I won't be going on the Dining Plan anytime soon. But I never, ever, tip extra when a gratuity is charged in advance. Sorry but you can't have it both ways. If you want the security of a fixed tip, you lose the opportunity to earn a bonus. And don't give me "it's not the servers' fault". It's not my fault either, it's the restaurant manager's fault.

We tipped extra at 4 out of 6 TS meals last week. 2 servers just were not up to par in our opinion. Our waiter at Sci-fi got a really good tip for bringing an extra serving of the of that "orange heaven" that is Disney Mac-N-Cheese for our DS :earboy2: ...he also let our DD order a shake, even though it is not part of the kids menu! The 2 we did not tip x-tra were Marrakesh & Liberty tree. The food was GREAT but our servers were not atentive.I figure they still got there 15%.
