Did You Know Akershus Rest. (PSB) is not Disney owned?

I wasnt aware that most Epcot Restaurants are not Disney owned.

I never really thought about it, but kind of makes sense. The World Showcase is basically sponsored by the different countries. The Cast Members are citizens of those countries and come over to work at WDW for a specific time period and then go back home. This is what makes it all so authentic.

Wow! That does make sense. It's no wonder the food there is so much better that most of the other food at WDW. Mmmmmm, pickled fish, mashed rutabaga and venison goulash, here we come!

I knew that the restaurant in Mexico wasn't owned by Disney, but I never thought about the other Epcot restaurants.

Interesting. Did anybody else notice the sausage on the PSB breakfast was the same that was offered at the Poly cafe/counter place... but those scrambled eggs were some of the best I've ever had!!

I was also told that the Pepper Market at CSR is owned by the folks that own the Mexican restraurant (so not disney owned either).

It's good to know, because when you have a service issue, there's only so much Disney can do. This is how I found out about Akershus. Dine help hit a brick wall and now I am trying to work it out with their mgmt.

I never even thought about what was owned by Disney inside of Disney but I will in the future.

That's interesting. I know that the restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin aren't on the Packages that include meals which bums me out. I love Palio's.
