I was just curious, I mean you spend so much for a dress you can only wear once, and then what do you do with it? What will you do with it if you did keep it?

What did YOU do with yours? :goodvibes

 - yes, I kept my $1600 dress (what was I thinking :scared:) I had it preserved and it is on the top shelf of my closet. I couldn't throw it out!!! I have NO idea what I will do with it :sad2:

I have mine and boy was I tiny back then. I can barely get my pinky in the arms now.

My mother in law was supposed to take mine to be cleaned and preserved....and never did. When I got it back (long story), my husband and I decided to have it made into handkerchiefs for our three children to carry (if they wish) on their wedding days.

I still have mine. I didn't love it then and I don't love it now, so I am not sure why I am keeping it. Fortunately I feel the opposite about DH...:rotfl:

It is pretty, but I couldn't find what I wanted at the time, and now, even J Crew has the type of simple, plain silk dress I wanted.

For nearly 11 years, it has crowded my guest room closet and has never even been cleaned, as I didn't think anyone else would ever wear it anyway.

But on a good note, it is a little too big...

Yes, I kept mine, I loved it, but i didnt get it preserved it is in a space saver bag. I kept it because I loved looking at my Momma's wedding photos and wished i could of played in her dress, my Best friend and her sister tell how they were little and would play in their Momma's dress and it was so big for them. I thought it would be nice to have for my little girl(if I was ever blessed with one) to play dress up in.

My cousin cut her wedding dress all up to use the material to make toothfairy cases, handkerchiefs and pillows for her little girls. cute idea

I do still have it. Uncleaned. Poor gown.

I had plans to make it into some sort of baby quilt, but just as I was about to do it, the site went out of business. So there it sits.

YEs, mine is in the closet. I didn't have it cleaned and preserved as I did not have the money.
I got it out a few years ago and it was YELLOW! So I thought what the heck? I put it in the tub with hot water and oxyclean.... Came out sparkling :)

I don't know what I will ever do with it. Of course it does not fit.

My dress was a second hand dress. My daughter enjoyed more than I did because I let her play dress up with it when she was growning up.

I still have mine. And my plans are to have it made into a Christening gown for future grandchildren.

I donated mine. I wasn't going to use it again, so I thought someone that might need it or the organization I donated it to could sell it for themselves. I do wonder what ever became of it.

I sold mine about a month after the wedding. Got half my money back!

I really don't have much sentimental attachment to material items so it never once has bothered me.

Yes I have both mine preserved in a boxes. First one is Pink the second one is white.:lmao:

Not sure why I keep them. :confused3 I am sure my dd will not want to wear it.

He didn't keep me so I didn't keep the dress...

I gave it to Goodwill.

That must have been one SMALL dress :lmao::lmao::lmao:

If DD doesn't want to wear it I might do this as well, although I saved our kids' Baptismal Gowns for that too so who knows...

I wore my mom's wedding dress and yes I had it cleaned and boxed it up and have it in my closet.

Not sure what I'll do with it in the future if anything. I suppose my DD could wear it, or I guess DS's future wife???

If not I like the idea of making it into something for a grandchild :cutie:

Had mine cleaned & boxed. Don't know why. I don't think anyone will want it. We don't have children to pass it to. Its sitting in the attic which probably isn't a great place for it.

My mother had made her own dress so thought nothing of cutting it up after and using the fabric to make my bassinett when I was born. I was bummed out by that when I learned it as a teenager. However, when the time came, hers wasn't a style I would have wanted to wear then anyway.

Oh, you mean that hot-pink mini dress I wore in 1968? :goodvibes

Nah...I didn't keep IT but I kept the hippie I married/ uh...I mean the man:lovestruc that I married....

I did...had it cleaned and preserved and it's been at my parents for the past 3.5 years since our wedding. BUT, why? I"m not having kids so it's not like I'm going to be passing the dress down to anyone...My plan now is to get it and put it up on Craigslist and hopefully get some money for it!

Mine is hanging un-preserved in my office closet. I can't get rid of it after stressed so much over a single dress.

(I do love it and yes, I've put it back on a few times over the years. It still fits!)
