I was wondering if any of you every experienced any Disney disappointments on your vacations? Ours were very minor-- I think my expections grow to high while I research on these boards!

Ours included--
1. Where was Mickey at MVMCP? I have no idea why-- but we found Mickey very hard to find! We saw just about every other character BUT Mickey!

2. I had read that Cinderella's carriage was displayed behind the castle during MVMCP. It wasn't there! This is no big deal to most people-- but we have a horse/pony fanatic who actually watches Cinderella for the horse-- so we thought that would be so great for her.

3. Our Boma visit. I know everyone seems to LOVE Boma.. but we disappointed I think due to the very high expectations! I thought the food was good and atmoshere great-- but our server didn't pick up any of our dirty dishes and I was hoping to find all the food everyone had written about and didn't find a lot of it-- there was very little seafood that I had heard about. (Our kids were also bad this night.. so that didn't help either!) We did love the zebra domes though!

Does anyone else have any let down stories???

The only thing that comes to mind was a very long wait for a bus from one of the parks to our hotel (YC) - almost an hour, in fact. Other busses came and went, and those of us in line even asked the other bus drivers to find out what was going on. This was mid-day, not opening and closing time.

We had a bad expereince at Corando Springs on our Honeymoon. The place was just not clean, there were dead bugs and spilled medication on the floor under the beds. Took 4 calls to mousekeeping to get the room clean and then it did sparkel and was much more in tune with what I expected.

I wrote a copklue of letters afterwards and finally got an apology. I have to say in all my trips to WDW it was the only time something tlike this happened.

Stayed at AKL the next year and it was fabulous.

The Adventurers Club opens late sometimes.

I think I remember that when I've seen Cinderella's carriage on display at the MVMCP, it's there by itself - no horses. She greets people in front of it sometimes. Might have been a letdown anyway.

Having to wait 30 mins for a ride on space mountain with a fast pass.

Also the burger bar place in MK, I think it's pinoccio's house, it was noisy busy and very dirty.

2 very miner ones and 1 Big one: Waiter @ 50's PT was a dud which was such a let down after the awsome person we had the last time.
No towel animals when we stayed @ the Cabins. Never gotten any in the years of going and was hoping it would happen time.
And the really BIG one is: Mousekeeping backed there cart into our van and left us a lovely scratch on the bumper. And WDW didn't seem to care at all.....:(

A 30 mins wait with a Fast Pass is BAD!
I found on both trips that the parks don't have enough Characters in the park and for only short times also. I think it woudl be great to have charaters all the time about if poss.

We only had one problem during our stay at POFQ (8/24-8/30). We returned from the park one day to find that mousekeeping had left our door open all day. The mousekeeping supervisor did not seem to find this a big deal. She said she was sorry and would look into it. Nothing was missing thank goodness. The next day we came back to the room and the mousekeeper left her cleaning supplies between the two beds. I am glad I found it before the 2 and 3 year olds did. Now I was not happy and went to the front desk and did get a refund for a 1/2 nights stay. I was not looking for a refund just a new mousekeeper.

our waitress at WCC had wooden stiff personality while everyone around us was having a ball with their waiters/waitress

Our waiter at Chef Mickey's had no personality. Didn't even crack a smile-not even a little one- He was very efficiant(sp?) though.:confused3

Twice we came back to our rooms about 2:00(Had left at 8) and Mousekeeping had not been there--not a biggie she was two doors down so we grabbed some fresh towel and extra mickey soaps.

One evening were had ressies at H&V and we waited almost 1 hour for a bus. We were late for dinner-but that was not a problem. They took us in less than 10 minutes:goodvibes And we were also given a pass for Fantasmic seating :cool1:

My biggest diappointment is that it went TOO Fast. I was wanting to stay longer and had to leave. O well maybe in another couple years :guilty:

Jenniferma - this doesn't help you now, but you should have been able to ask any Cast Member for assistance finding either Mickey or Cinderella's Carriage.

TDC Nala - yeah, unfortunately Disney sometimes rents out one or another (or more) facility for private functions - at least they don't do Adventurers Club for an entire evening! Hmmm... thinking here... how many DISers would we need to rent Typhoon Lagoon for an evening.... :)

My "disappointment": That, despite discussing the issue with a Manager in January, it was still impossible in September for a solo traveler in a wheelchair or ECV to get into Cosmic Ray's unassisted. They apparently went to some expense to add ramps to allow access to two of the doors formerly reachable only by stairs, but no non-manual way to open the doors - which open outward. Go ahead, give it a try some time!

only i disappointment i can think of were Boma..rotten extremely rude waiter, food just like anywhere else( brkfst) and Ohana's just not the fun time expected and again waiter this time not rude just none existent

and of course not staying long enough!

Most of the things we've been disappointed with have to do with the food and service at restaurants.

Tony's..... HORRIBLE food and service. The waiter was spanish, spoke spanish (heard him talking to another guest), we could not understand his english! and was just rude! You would think they would have ITALIAN servers!! :confused3

At Hollywood and Vine..... Worst food ever!!! Just plain gross!

Last time at Ohanas... breakfast was mediocre at best. Most of the other times we have been there it's been very good... last time... yuk.

Casey's had some pretty "grouchy" CM working the counter!!! Come on... it doesn't take that much to put a smile on!!!

Few times... disappointed in the location of our rooms. At CSR... we were in Ranchos... just too far from El Centro. And a couple other resorts... too far from the pool.

Oh yes.... it was a HUGE disappointment to see how big the crowds were for EMH in the evening!!! OMG!! Why do they advertise it like they do... it is more crowded at evening EMH than it is during the afternoon!!

Trails End Buffet. I had heard so many good things about it, and was looking forward to dinner there. The place was dirty, the food mediocre, and the selection was not that great. I don't think I can ever bring myself to eat there again.

Oh, my. You sound very displeased. Are you planning to return?

Two disappointments for us -

It rained practically all day every day for us our entire trip. In the whole week we were there, we saw about 4 hours of sunshine in "the sunshine state". Not Disney's fault, certainly, but a dissapointment nonetheless. :sunny:

The other was a CM practically yelling at me and ordering me to do something. We had arrived VERY early for seats that we really wanted at this show. It wasn't even full, but the CM ordered us to move because "he was going to fill this side of the theatre". He was ordering around another CM, who looked at him with this look of disbelief. I know I have bad days at work and get paid very little too, but if I ever talked that way to a paying customer, I'd be in VERY serious trouble. I get talked that way to at work - I don't need it on my vacation! ::MickeyMo

Now don't get me wrong - we had WONDERFUL CM's for most of the trip. This one just seemed to be a "bad apple" - hopefully Snow White stays away. princess:

Getting the 2nd floor of the Samoa building, no balcony! Great view though.

How crowded EMH was at MK. Totally not worth going.

Not getting any towel animals at the Poly after getting them each night at the WL.

Just a few:

1. Checking in to the AKL. I did the room request thing and begged for a room on the main savannah - Arusha. We were given a room on one of the smaller savannahs. As soon as the CM pointed out where we were on the map I very nicely told him that we would love a room on the Arusha Savannah. To which he said, without even looking on the computer, they didn't have any available. I even said we had no problem waiting. It was not really a big deal and I didn't push the issue because it was the beginning of our vacation. But it was 11:00 in the morning in early May. The resort was not busy the entire 4 days we were there. I was left with the distinct impression that the CM just didn't want to be bothered with moving us. BTW, we loved our room on the Sunset Savannah. It just was not our first choice.

2. Attraction closures. I know they have to rehab the attractions. Like everyone else, I just wish they didn't do it when we are there. Anyway, the only time I am ever truly disappointed at WDW is when one of my favorites is closed and I didn't know it was going to be. Last time, it was Dinosaur!

Did it sound/look Spanish, or was it actually Spanish?
I mean, are one of your party fluent in Spanish, so they could confirm?

I only ask because I find that many people easily mix up the European languages - when I was younger I met a girl who spoke German so sweetly that I was convinced it was French!

I should also add that all the European languages (English included) share so many of the same words too! And when the words aren't being shared, many of them are so so similar!

Maybe they didn't have any Arusha rooms on the day you were checking in?

I agree with the attraction rehabs though - I am on pins waiting for December info to come out!! :rotfl2:
