Did you give your photographer a shot list/ideas?

Did anyone give their photographer some examples of pictures they would like take or did you just trust them to get all the great shots you wanted?

If you have specific shots in mind, I would let them know. They usually have standard shots but they don't know what you want unless you tell them.

We are using Randy Chapman. My DF and I have both gone on his Facebook page and saved shots that he's done at other weddings that we liked. I've also saved pics from other places that I would like replicated. So, yes, I plan on doing it!

I gave mine a list, they also asked for it, but really it was more for the family pics. Then there were a few general like pics with each member of the BP, etc. I also asked for a lot of detail shots since I made a lot of the things for the wedding. The list wasn't very long and there were not that many specific shots. Overall I trusted them to get pictures I would like, but they couldn't be expected to know the groupings for family shots.

If there are shots you really want, let your photographer know. What you may think is a standard shot, could have been something another bride requested.

There were a few specific shots that we wanted, so I let our MK session photographer, and our wedding day photographer (Randy) which ones we really wanted to make sure that we got them. Both photographers were great and made sure that we got the shots that we wanted.

my photographer asked for a list for the family shots and elements of what I wanted (details, locations, etc), which he brought and worked from. I did send him a folder of inspirational shots and now that everything's done I don't really know how many of them he captured. I was so happy with our photos and his take on everything I sort of forgot about the inspirational ones! :goodvibes

I do think it's really important to give your photographer a list of the family shots though...I've read way too many horror stories about brides not getting pictures they wanted with their family.
