Did you get your own luggage on DME?

When using DME did you retrieve your own luggage off the plane and not rely on DME to insure that you would have it? If so do you take it to the bus with you? I have a friend who did this but now I'm not sure what they did with the luggage after they got it and headed for the busses.

I thought the luggage was on the bus w/ the passengers but read somewhere that it is shipped separately, thus my confusion.

I used DME and picked up my own luggage. I put the DME tags on as I was waiting in the DME line. The bags were put under the bus I was on. My bags were taken off at my direction by the Bell services at WL.

If I had put the tags on prior to leaving the bags would have been put on the plane and taken off by DME. They would have traveled to DW on a truck from MCO to WL. I would have not seen or had access to them until they would have been delivered to my room by Bell services at WL.

As I am a control freak I prefered taking the bags on the bus with me. I didnt have to worry about packing a carry on with 1/2 the world in there just essentials.

Either way have a great trip.

While I haven't used ME I did want to add that we travel to MCO several times a year and it's not uncommon to wait an hour for bags to come off the plane. If you want to be on property as quickly as possible you might want to trust the system and get on the bus as soon as you can vs waiting for your bags.

OMG and I thought the 10 min wait was to long. I have never waited more than 10 minutes for my bag in MCO. If I waited longer than say 15 min I would be at luggage claim looking for my bags. I know I am very controlling. I want what I want when I want. Hey works for me.
