Did you ever taste anything so awful, you were sure it was going to come back up?

Not to be gross, but I was just thinking about the most disgusting food I ever ate in my life - and it was just this past weekend.

It was at a baby shower and it was chicken piccata. ONE BITE - and I swore I was going to lose my cookies (er.. chicken) all over the table. I couldn't even look at it - I had to cover it up with a napkin it was that bad.

I don't even want to know what was in it - it even looked awful.

Did you ever have that happen???

Yup. For me it's certain textures. I have a hard time eating ground meat or pulled meat.

Yup. I was at a Christmas party one year for Girl Scouts. My leader had made her "famous" cheese ball. Famous because it's supposedly good. I bit into it and immediately gagged. As I was gagging she was telling one of the other leaders her secret is the olives she makes it with:crazy2: Olives=not good.

::yes:: Textures matter. The texture of this chicken piccata junk was EWWWWWW. It was all spongy and greasy. I couldn't believe people were actually eating it.:earseek:

Yikes! I didn't even know you could cream an armadillo! :earseek:

Undercooked scallops when I was pregnant. Made me cry, I was so grossed out. Must've been the hormones.

Lamb raviolis.... I am a vegetarian have been my whole life. I can not stand any meat..... Truly can not deal. I was at my Inlaws house for Christmas dinner and it was an italian Christmas dinner. I was excited a christmas dinner without the dreaded ham. I bit into a ravioli. and instantly, honestly, fealt like I was going to be sick. I was horrified and not sure what the bejeez I had eaten. When my witch of a SIL informed me that she knew I didn't eat meat. So she made lamb raviolis....

Honestly folks, I think she was trying to kill me. ::yes:: I have never been to dinner with her again this was 9 years ago.... I can hold a really good grudge.::yes::

I have a really hard time with textures too, most people think I am really strange! It's good to know I am not alone.

Well, just recently there was this container of milk I took from the fridge at work...... Guess it had been there a while.

The ribs at Flame Tree BBQ in the Animal Kingdom. Come to think of it, last time I ate there they DID come back up.

I can't stand the smell of that place. I walk by there very quickly now.

Sounds just like my reaction to the skillet meats at Garden Grille.;)

I ate a bad tomato in a salad from wendy's once. I seriously nearly threw everything back up. I can barely even stand to look at "grape" tomatoes now.

Otherwise, there's nothing that really makes me want to lose it, other than most seafood. I put fried calamari in my mouth once thinking it was an onion ring....I will make that mistake only ONCE!

yes!

once went to dinner at a relatives house and she had made CousCous with chicken in a tomato sauce. First off Im NOT a tomato person, she knew this because she had asked me 2 hours earlier if there was anything I didnt like, but I tried it to be polite and planned on eating it anyway, but the couscous was SO disgusting I literally gagged on it. I couldnt get it down at all! BLECH

I am such a non-adventurous eater. Exactly what is couscous?

I can't eat lemon meringue pie....anything with meringue skeeves me. I just got chills thinking about it.

Then again, if I don't like the way something looks or smells, I won't eat it.

When I was a little kid, I decided to make myself some chocolate milk. Couldn't understand why the powder wouldn't mix in, but I took a big sip anyway. I was using unsweetened cocoa powder! OMG I can still taste that bitter stuff.

When I was a kid, it was mom's stuffed green peppers. She would core the pepper out and stuff it with with secret herbs and spices, ground beef, rice and tomato. The smell and texture didn't jive with me. Mom never made that one again. Cabbage rolls are gross too.
