Did you ever dream something and then it happened?

A few nights ago, I shot out of bed from a dream that my dd was vomiting. Now she has a stomach virus and really IS vomiting! I just thought that was really weird.

Yes especially before I had kids I would have these really vivid dreams that would come true, probably once or twice a year. The weirdest one when I worked in an office building and I dreamed a girl on the floor below me (I did not know this girl, only met her once, her DH was an ancestor of Abe Lincoln) was pregnant. The next day my co-worker sitting next to me said "Guess who just announced she is pregnant?" and I said - Laurie Lincoln, with absolute conviction, and she said How in the world did you guess - she just announced it to everyone?

Once I had kids I no longer had the dreams (I sound very Shirley Macleanish right now - lol), actually I'm glad because they used to freak me out a little.

Yes I have weird things happen to me all the time! I usually just think "how weird" and then ignore it. A good example is the other night when we were going to watch Serendipity I knew the names before we even turned the movie on and I didn't even know the move exsisted before we rented it....weird.

No, thank God. My dreams are usually awful. I'm always tragically involved in something.....very unlike my real life!!

I often dream of things that later happens. The worst one was the one I dreamt of my ds death. I wasn't sure what the dream was exactly about when I dreamt it but when everything happened the whole thing was there. I had told 2 other people about the dream when I had the dream and when my ds died they were as flabergasted as I was. It was one dream I really wished had not come true. However I would then not have gone on and had my 2nd ds so there is a happy outcome to look at.

About 6 weeks ago, DH had a dream that his Dad passed away. A few nights later, my FIL had a stroke and ended up dying as a result of it. I just told DH if he ever has another dream like that, don't tell anyone.

tigercat, I'm sorry for your loss. That must have been a very hard thing to accept.

unfortunately, yes. I have been having dreams like that since I was young. It started when I was about 10. I don't have them as often as when I was young, but it is very scary.

All the time, but I usually don’t remember that I dreamt it until it happens. Then, I will get this déjà vu feeling and think, “I dreamt this.” Mostly, it’s everyday things, like walking into a room and seeing a book on a table.

Not long ago, I had a horrible dream. I looked the details up in a dream dictionary and the meaning was that something bad would happen to a male relative. After reading this, I became very concerned for a certain male relative that had been in the dream. I began praying for his safety several times a day. About 3 months later, the prediction came true; but it happened to another male relative – not the one in the dream. I had actually forgotten about the dream until it happened. It was – and still is – very unsettling.

That's mine exactly. I never remember it until the deja vu hits. It's either a picture or a sentence, or a strange set of circumstances that don't seem like they should go together. Someone's name or face.

It happens several times a year. My oldest dd has them too.

Tigercat and Diane, I am so sorry. :(
