Found a deal (I think) for the nick hotel and was wondering if anyone here could give me their personal opinions of this hotel? We would have liked to stay on sight but this is a budget trip:upsidedow
We will be there for at least 2 nights but we are considering a 3rd starting on Dec 8.
What is the distance from the hotel to US/IOA and Seaworld?
Is the hotel clean? Fun? Will my 12 year old think it is "babyish":headache:?

Thanks!

You might get more luck with this question on the Orlando Hotels board since the Nick hotel isn't considered one of the Universal resorts or hotels.

Not sure if there are two but we passed a Nick hotel the other day on our way from Disney to the airport. If it is the same one it is much closer to Disney than either Universal or Sea World. As a previous poster said, the only hotels associated with Universal are Royal Pacific, Hard Rock, and Portofina. Have never stayed at the Nick Hotel but it looks, from passing by, like it would be for kids younger than 12. I can honestly say that my son would have wanted no part of it at 12.

My 11 yo still likes it. The pool areas are huge, full of slides and every day at 4pm they drop a giant bucket of "slime" on everyone. There are 4-D movies (for a fee) and several "game" shows (including a midnight show) that are filled with tweens and teens.

It's much closer to WDW than US, about a 20-25 minute drive.

It can get crowded, loud and kind of dirty at the pool area, rooms are decent.

ITA that you should check the Orlando Hotels and Attractions Forum, there are lots of reviews.

Not happy with Nick. Our kids had fun for the one night that we there but were ready to move on. Very loud, full of energy and obnixously bright colors. I would think you could stay at one of the Vaule resorts or even a mod. with all the deals Disney is putting out for less or comparable. We will never be staying there again.

If you catch the Travel Channel, try to watch an episode called Extreme Resorts. The Nick Hotel was featured, and after seeing how very crowded and loud it was, I decided that we would NEVER stay there. Way too many people in the pool/slide area.

So it's not getting favorable reviews here:scared1: Guess that why it wasn't to hard to get quoted a $89 s night rate:laughing: If it too good to be true...
Thanks for the heads up! I appreciate it!

I would not recommend the nick hotel if you are staying during Dec. The focus at the hotel is clearly the pool and water activities.

Good luck.
