I booked my son and his three cousins for the Pirate Cruise last thursday at the GF. When I called, they said that my cc would be charged 24 hours prior to the event. My sister paypal'd the money to me and I put it in the account I was using to pay for the cruise with. Well upon arrival at the marina, the woman said that no one's cards had been charged and that we had to pay for it at that time. Luckily I had my room key with me and just charged it back to the room, but there were others there that didn't bring anything with them. I'm not sure how it was handled, but I do know their kids were allowed on the cruise.

My advice is to bring your cc or room key with you just in case you run into the same situation.

Also...if you are coming from the All Stars resorts and going to the cruise on a Thursday...make sure you get the bus stop as early as you can (like 7:30AM) since it's EE day at the MK and the bus lines are super long. A woman and her son were about 30 minutes late to the cruise since it took so long to get there and the lines at the bus stop were so long, but luckily they were able to send her child out to the boat so it wasn't a total loss for them. If we would not have been able to pile onto the bus we did we would not have made it in time to the cruise.

BTW...the kids loved the cruise!!

thanks for the info!!!

we are leaving late next week and ds is scheduled for the PC. i had to give a cc when i booked, but i'd rather pay when we get there anyways. i'll check it out!

I have my boys booked for this on 11/20. The way I understood it was the credit card is in case your a no show, since there is a 24 hr cancellation policy. They don't actually charge it until the day of the cruise. As long as you show up you can then pay however you like.

That's not how it was explained to myself and the others at the cruise. I had called WDW Dining to change the cc I was using and the woman even double checked with another CM to see if I would be charged before the cruise and she said yes. In this instance they just didn't get around to charging anyone before hand, but they do normally charge the full amount 24 hours before the cruise.
