Did they reopen the Passholder lounge in Epcot?

Just read another thread on these boards where the person said they had been to the Passholder Lounge in Epcot on a recent trip. I thought they closed them for good? I have had an Annual pass for the past 2 years and have yet to see an AP lounge. Does anyone have any info on this? Have they reopened in any other park?
Thanks..... :wave2:

I would love to know about this also. I am a new AP holder, so I never paid much attention to it before.

I have not heard anything about this.I wish it were true, but I seriously doubt it.Perhaps they were refering to one of the corporate lounges.

Let me know too! I'm a 1st year passholder, and am
very interested! BTW Grand Canyon...C U T E pic!

I haven't heard anything, either. I would think such an event would be announced in the Mickey Monitor and also in an e-mail. It would be great if they did, though!

Thats a good question! What I wonder is IF the Passholder Lounges are back open, does everyone in the party entering have to have an AP Pass? From adult to child? Or will it be sufficient for one person to have it. My husband and I bought one AP Pass to get the passholder rate :teeth: so that would be something to know.

The lounges were not open when we were there in Feb. We have visited them in the past during visits in both Epcot and Animal Kingdom. Neither were that big a deal but were a nice place to get away from the crowds at. Both offered free soft drinks, water and I think coffee.

The lounge at Epcot offered a childs play area and a couple of monitors that were showing Disney movies. This lounge was in the Land and looked down into the Living With The Land attraction.

The lounge at Animal Kingdom was in the back of the Pizzasafari (sp?) and offered the same basic drinks and things. But this lounge also offered free Arcade games (1 pinball machine and a video game). We visited this lounge in the summer during one of our visits and it was not air conditioned.

Both lounges asked us to sign in and show an annual pass but not all members of our party were asked for a pass. Both lounges offered the ability to book PS's for different restraunts and the lounge in Epcot offered VIP seating for Illuminations near Italy. You had to put you name on a list and then check in prior to the show.

We will be there next week. I'll take a peek and see if they are open again unless someone comes up with something prior to that.

I don't put too much credence in this rumor simply because: if the passholder lounge that was open was in Epcot, and the lounge hasn't changed location - it would be impossible for it to be open since The Land is closed for refurbishment, and has been for a month or so now.

In addition this what the above says, in the Epcot lounge, there was a lot of one on one character time. My DD's had the best time playing games with Chip & Dale. Goofy & Mickey were teasing them on the sofa. Donald came out... we saw more characters there in 30 minutes than we saw at any one time during all of our many years of going... boy do I wish they would bring it back! :wizard:

somewhere i read there was a AAA lounge, no? perhaps that's what the o/p was referring to?

The only AAA lounge is in the Magic Kingdom. It's in the Tomorrowland area; behind Space Mountain I believe.

Actually, from what I understand, the Land pavillion has been reopened in some capacity for at least a couple of days now as many here have reported getting into the pavillion and having been able to experience a soft opening for Soarin'.

I'll let you know for sure as I arrive in the "World" on Sunday.

That's right. If there were any AP lounges anywhere, they would have been reported in the Monitor. It's a shame they stopped this. We enjoyed the lounge in The Land very much. The very first AP lounge was in a covered outdoor area in the AK. At that time, along with the CM making us a PS for lunch, we were also given fast passes to any one ride we wanted!

What's the MICKEY MONITOR??

The Mickey Monitor is a mailing that is sent out to AP holders. Usually a couple of pages long, it gives up dates on AP events, specials and things going on at WDW. I think it's a quarterly mailing.

I am going to try to find the thread where I read this the other day and PM the writer to look into this further. However I would love it if you could still peek in on your upcoming visit Sunking!

I used to love the AP lounges Epcot was especially nice for us with the younger kids.

I never heard of the AAA lounge mentioned behind Space Mountain. Is it opened now? What are the rules to gain access? I have a AAA card but did not order a package through them.

Thanks for any info.

You have to purchase a package. You get a voucher good for one visit. You can have free soda I believe. I'm not sure what else is in there, cause I've never been in there, myself! :)
