Did the rules for booking fast passes change???

We have a split stay this August with the first two nts at the CR followed by the last 6 nts at the Poly. I have ALWAYS been able to make FP's for our entire on site stay up to 14 days. Now I'm being told I can only make FP's for 7 days and will have to wait until we actually use a days worth before we can book any more. I have been on the phone for over an hour now and getting absolutely no where. They're saying that it has to do with our split stay and us being AP holders...ummmm this is not our first split stay as AP holders for longer than 7 days. What is going on??

As long as you don't have any FP+ booked before your first day of a resort stay, it should let you book all at the 60 day window. I did 5 weekends of SWW, checking in and out and it let me do all 15 days for FP as soon as I hit the 60 day mark of each. However, I could not book days when we weren't staying or it would only let me do the 7 days.

I asked on another thread about making FPs with a split stay and was told I'd have to wait to book the 2nd half of our trip for 60 days prior to res #2. Reading this thread, it seems like that isn't the case, and I should be able to book all the dates when the first window opens. Am I getting that right? (We are WDW veterans, but new to FP+ and it's already stressing me out!)

OP - I'm so glad that it's working for you now, and sorry that you had to spend the day on the phone with Disney to sort it all out.

To be honest, I have never had this much trouble booking our fastpasses in all of our trips - this was a first for me. To answer your question, yes, as long as your stays are at Disney resorts you will be able to make your FP's for your length of stay.

Thanks! Our stays are non-consecutive (with a DCL cruise in the middle), so that may make things harder. I've had other friends have no problems with FP+ for several trips, but then have tons of issues for other trips, so I have to admit that I'm concerned I'll be spending tons of time trying to get things to work.

I had to call tech help in 2014 to make it work. With 2015, it worked right away without calling.

OP, if you have a record of your call dates and with whom you spoke, write a letter to guest relations. I find it inexcusable that we are nearly two years in to MyMagic+ and Disney's help has such a poor track record.

I also had a person drop out of my party in MDE and could not make FP+ reservations for her. They never were able to fix it during that trip and we had to coordinate everything from two different accounts, or, go to a kiosk for any change. We were so frustrated. This was one year ago so it's sad that this is still happening.

I haven't ruled out sending a note to guest relations because I am still miffed by the way I was spoken to by the first two CM's. There was no reason for them to be so argumentative with me about something they should have been well-versed on. Imagine being told that you're being penalized for a split stay, both at Disney resorts and for staying over 7 days consecutively?? By the time I was done, I swear I could no longer see straight :sad2:.

I would definitely encourage you to call or write. No matter what your issue, there is no excuse for a CM to speak to you rudely. I've had it happen and the second it did, the conversation stopped and I asked for a supervisor.

Glad you got your FP+ worked out!

I had a similar issue two weeks ago and like you it took a couple hours for most to get resolved but like another pp I also had problems with one of my dd's being lost on MDX. All is well now but I definitely felt like the CM's assumed I was doing it wrong in one breath and then complaining I had too many stays/magic bands and AP in the other!

I will say when I finally got to the IT person they were wonderful, patient kind and did fix things. I am in the process of putting together my snail mail letter as well to document both the two initial frustrating and lengthy calls as well as the final excellent call.
