Did someone mention food?

Be Our Guest looks lovely. Glad you enjoyed it.

It was fab!! really loved all aspects of the restaurant.

I can't wait to go there

Well we were only going to do BOG for lunch ....but after reading that .. maybe dinner too yum !!! :)

HAHA Oh i would recommend it, but do keep in mind we were blown away by the atmosphere as well so that had an effect on our opinion of it.

Really enjoying your report. FOOD!! Just up my street :rotfl:

Looking forward to more offerings :)

:rotfl2::rotfl2: FOOD!!!!! My favourite thing lol The food over all was defo a highlight of the trip.
When I first went back in 2008 I knew nothing of TS meals so this trip was a dining delight

On to more feasting :goodvibes:goodvibes

This morning was Epcot, after Soarin to California we were indeed hungry(its a long trip you know lol)
We decided to stop in sunshine seasons in the land pavilion. At 9.30am is was surprisingly not very crowded and I had our breakfast got and seats within 10minutes or less. Fast food is right!

What followed was one of our favourite counter services of the trip. We came back here a second time later in the trip just for this breakfast!

<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1252_zps28f5e5a1.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1252_zps28f5e5a1.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1252_zps28f5e5a1.jpg"/></a>

Mum had the adult breakfast platter and I had the same but subbed out the biscuit(scone lol) for extra french toast.
The bacon was crispy and fresh, the sausages, I cant say I'm a fan of. Too spicy I think, I'm not 100% sure what it is but I didnt care for them much.
The scrambled egg.....mmm mmm mmm very good for counter service quality.
And the french toast was very tasty indeed especially when coupled with maple syrup.
The piece de resistance has got to be the Croissant Berry Pudding.....Holy Moly this was good. As for berries it was more just blueberry than berries plural, however this wasnt a bad thing.
It doesnt look like much but dont be fooled by appearances. It was moist and warm and both a little crispy at the same time. Melt in your mouth. A lovely snack with a cuppa if you didnt feel like a big breakfast.
The only thing that we were disappointed about was the fact that we didnt get two of the berry puddings :rotfl2:

Cont....

That day we wandered around Epcot taking it all in. Leaving ourselves not to tied to a schedule (Shock horror lol) We took in some snacks along the way....
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1255_zpsf43138c1.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1255_zpsf43138c1.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1255_zpsf43138c1.jpg"/></a>
Club cool was so much fun!! although I found people were a bit pushy in here, I think its like the "ah its free, lets go crazy mentality". Overall a nice break from the Florida sun.
We then strolled around the world stopping for nibbles along the way :)
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1257_zps993c64fc.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1257_zps993c64fc.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1257_zps993c64fc.jpg"/></a>
After hearing so much about the school bread, I just had to try it. So we stopped in Norway. We chose the school bread and the cloudberrry horn.
Hummm as much as people rave about school bread I just wasnt a fan at all. Both pastries to me had the "Ive been in a fridge too long" which really alters the taste. I had noticed it with the cupcakes throughout WDW but this was different. I think it was because it was pastry it didnt seem to hold up very well in the fridge. The cream inside the cloudberry horn was fruity and creamy but nothing to write home about.
On the other hand my mum LOVED the school bread. It really suited her as it wasnt too sweet. It had a hint of cinnamon which a generous amount of vanilla flavour custard. The bread its self was kind of half way between a bread roll and a cinnamon roll.

Of course after all this snacking, we got a little thirsty. Next stop Italy for a Rosa Regale :goodvibes
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1258_zps449db654.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1258_zps449db654.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1258_zps449db654.jpg"/></a>
We loved this pit stop! Its a lovely slightly sweet sparkling wine. I would recommend this if you like a glass of bubbly!

After getting the taste for a nice glass of something cool, we decided to head over to the polynesian early and have one of these bad boys at the Tambu lounge.....
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1266_zpsebb20545.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1266_zpsebb20545.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1266_zpsebb20545.jpg"/></a>
A lapu lapu......
Its a mix of rum and fruit juices and darn it is good. Its sweet but not sickly and really packs a punch! So as you can imagine it gets 2 thumbs up from us :rotfl2:
The scooped out pinapple is such a nice touch the only thing I will say is that its heavy and its a two hand job to drink these! (not a complaint just something i noted lol)
On to the food. We were dining at 'Ohana on this occasion.

We checked in for our meal shortly after ordering our lapu lapus.
Soon after, the buzzer went off and we were then seated. My first impression was just wow! I loved the large grill/fire pit/ bbq (not sure what its called. The restaurant just had a lovely vibe.
Our server promptly arrived and explained how things work etc. He was then followed by a second server who brought around the food.
First the welcome bread which was warm and a little sweet. Very different. I really enjoyed it. Then the salad, noodles/veg and wings/dumplings came out together.
The salad had a lovely tang to the dressing, I could have eaten another bowl, and Im really not a salad fan!
The noodles had a little too much sauce on them, and the sauce was very sweet. I would have prefered plain noodles with the option of adding sauce myself.
The wings were ok. Not amazing but not bad either. Not a huge amount of flavour in the batch that we got.
On the other hand the pork dumplings were very very tasty with sweet and sour type sauce dizzled over them.
Next came all the meat.
And I mean all. It was so much all at once. Chicken, steak and shrimp. At this point our little table for two literally couldnt fit anymore food on it!
The meat was all cooked very well, and seasoned nicely however I think I was a little put off by the sheer amount of it.
Next came the dessert......DROOL..........This was AMAZING.
Banana foster pudding with a big HUGE scoop of vanilla ice cream. I want some right now!
They bring over one serving for the table and you share it. It comes out without the sauce and your server will pour the warm banana foster sauce over the ice cream creating a river of toffee, ice cream, moist cake delight.
This was was the highlight of the meal for us.
We got cocktails to take with us to the beach to watch the fireworks and went for the tropical mccaw. It was similar to the lapu lapu with more of a melon taste. It didnt pack as much of a punch as the lapu lapu which at that time in the evening we were glad of.
We finished the evening watching the fireworks on the beach of the polynesian. A perfect end to a relaxing day.

Overall, I would say 'Ohana, its a very good restaurant if you are a big eater. I think it is a bit more about quantity than quality. Now im not saying that the food is bad, by no means is it but we did have nicer meals else where.
In saying this, my mum has it on her list of ADR's for next year for the atmostphere and the fact that its something a little different.

I would give 'Ohana 7/10.

The breakfast looks good :)

We did Boma in November, but I think O'hanas would have been my preferred choice (we did that last time), I agree with your mum that it is something different and has a good atmosphere. The pudding is

Yea I have to say the atmosphere was great, were putting it on our ADR list for next year just for the pudding :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

It all looks amazing! :lovestruc

Awww it was, I keep making myself hungry with the pics!

So after a night of merriment, we needed a bit of a detox so we headed to the senses spa at the GF for a spot of pampering, as you do :goodvibes

We both got one treatment each and it was a lovely break from the parks but at $400 for the two of us including tip it was a once off very special mother daughter occasion :cloud9:

We weren't expecting food to be part of our spa experience however it was. We were greeted with different juices each one themed for the journey you were about to take.
Popping in this youtube link which explains it better than I do!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9rnjGXKBr8
So after the juice and journey chat, we were lead to the ladies changing room which was smaller than I had imagined but fabulous none the less.
They had herbal tea and some detox cucumber and basil water on tap......but who am I kidding, I went straight for the mini muffins, which were courgette and carrot. This sounds very ick but OMG they were amazing. They had a little sprinkle of course decorating sugar on top which just made these waaaay too good.
So much for my spa/detox day I must have eaten 6 of this bad boys lol :worship::worship:
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1299_zps670c9e57.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1299_zps670c9e57.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1299_zps670c9e57.jpg"/></a>

After a very chill out morning, we decided to head to DTD for a look around and some lunch.
We went to WGPE and we were not dissapointed. For a counter service credit this really is very very good value.
I went for the Chicken Alfredo which was pasta with chicken peas, bacon and parmesan in a creamy sauce.
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1305_zpsd25c79ff.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1305_zpsd25c79ff.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1305_zpsd25c79ff.jpg"/></a>

Mum went for the Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf which came with mashed potatoes, port wine sauce and crispy onion rings.
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1306_zps881136c6.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1306_zps881136c6.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1306_zps881136c6.jpg"/></a>

My pasta was lovely with the bacon adding a nice salty zing to the creamy pasta, how ever I think the star of this meal was the bacon wrapped meatloaf. If for nothing else but the sauce and mashed potato! They were divine. Rich sauce and creamy mash, what more could you ask for?
The meatloaf itself was interesting, I had never had meatloaf before, it was very flavourful, but I couldnt have eaten that portion with out having the meat shakes after lol If you like your meat though this one is for you!
Both dishes were enormous, and neither of us finished ours.

We did however, leave room for dessert :thumbsup2
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1307_zps81427a45.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1307_zps81427a45.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1307_zps81427a45.jpg"/></a>
These were the only time we had creme brulee while in Disney and I can honestly say this was some of the best I have ever had.
Perfect crack when you placed your spoon on top, coupled with the vanilla custard underneath.
A very good desert choice.

We then headed back to the resort to catch some rays and chill out with tummys full and muscles relaxed:cloud9:

So the next day we had breakfast in the room, cereal cups with breakfast bars in the bag for mid morning snacks.

I cant remember where we spent the morning, but that evening we had preferred fireworks viewing in Epcot.
So we stayed close by to the Morocco boat dock by eating in Italy in Via Napoli.

We had a reservation for 7.15pm, and arrived at about 7pm. We still had to wait until about 7.50 to be seated which was the longest wait of the trip. Not too bad but a little frustrating when it was just a table for two. Also, it was so busy that there was no where to sit while we waited and we were afraid to leave and come back in case we were over looked.

Was it worth the wait? Hummmm jury is still out for me.
It was soo soo busy it seemed a little chaotic, and tbh had it been Chef Mickeys I would have expected it but not here.
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1313_zpse1c11340.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1313_zpse1c11340.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1313_zpse1c11340.jpg"/></a>
I ordered, Wood fired Authetic Pizza Napoletana - Margherita. Tomato, mozzarella, basil.
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1314_zpsba5f09d2.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1314_zpsba5f09d2.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1314_zpsba5f09d2.jpg"/></a>

Mum went for the: Wood Fired Authentic Pizza Napoletana - Pepperoni. Spicy pepperoni, Tomato Mozzarella.
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1315_zpse351cdc6.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1315_zpse351cdc6.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1315_zpse351cdc6.jpg"/></a>

Both pizzas were delicious!!!!!!! As you can see I was digging in before taking the picture, oops!!
Had I been rating this restaurant on the pizza alone it would get a 10/10,
how ever we still had desert to go.

I went for, Coppa Di Brutti Ma Buoni - Ugly, but good. Amarena cherry and vanilla gelato sundae with ugly, but good cookies of carnevale
This was good and tasty the cherry gelato was fab, especially with the cookie along with it.

<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1316_zps26cf89f8.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1316_zps26cf89f8.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1316_zps26cf89f8.jpg"/></a>

And mum went for:Gelati E. Sorbetto - pistachio
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1318_zpsa99c44a4.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1318_zpsa99c44a4.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1318_zpsa99c44a4.jpg"/></a>

This was a bit......well......SNORE.........It did what it said on the tin but it was nothing to write home about. I think next time mum would pick a different dessert, something that you couldn't just make at home.

Over all I felt a little rushed here, and with the delay it just didn't set the atmosphere for us.
I would say 6/10 for this restaurant over all. Not bad at all but more the atmosphere and desserts that let it down.

After this we stopped by France and got ourselves some grown up slushies.
The Grand Marnier slush to be exact :)
These were waaaaay to easy to drink!!!!!! We called it at one for this reason lol I'd imagine they would sneak up on you as they taste so non alcohol-y-
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1328_zps25ec71da.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1328_zps25ec71da.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1328_zps25ec71da.jpg"/></a>

Finished by the one and only Mickey ice cream bar :worship:
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1330_zps20a563ed.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1330_zps20a563ed.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1330_zps20a563ed.jpg"/></a>

Another Disney day came to a close with this yummy snack

That crime brûlée looks delicious mmmmmmm.........

Great update, have a lovely Christmas :santa:

Thanks a mill! Going to try finished this over the next few days as Im on holidays from Uni haha
Its so nice to sit down with time to spare :santa::woohoo:

<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1335_zpsed350bca.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1335_zpsed350bca.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1335_zpsed350bca.jpg"/></a>

A clue to our next dining date :dance3::dance3::dance3:

CHEF MICKEYS:goodvibes

We had an early early morning reservation here at 7am:coffee:
This was so excited for this!!! Being the big child that I am :cool1:
We arrived just on time, and only had to wait about 5 mins before being called for photos and then we were seated.
We had a very friendly server who was full of the joys that early in the morning, I was very impressed!
She explained how the buffet worked and we were away.
Within that few mins of photos, being seated etc the queue just seemed to get sooooo big. We decided instead of going for lots of little plates to do one big buffet plate of savoury and then one of sweet.
This was my first plate, but to be honest myself and mum basically had the same.
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1336_zps0be82a4d.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1336_zps0be82a4d.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1336_zps0be82a4d.jpg"/></a>

Bacon,Breakfast Potatoes, French toast,Cheese Potatoes,Scrambled eggs and some sort of breakfast quiche.
All were standard breakfast fare and yummy.
As we were celebrating they brought mum out this, lovely cupcake which was eaten with a cup of tea back in the room later on that evening.

<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/c9d53371-5127-4d73-9723-4a3b017f2583_zps521fb57f.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/c9d53371-5127-4d73-9723-4a3b017f2583_zps521fb57f.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo c9d53371-5127-4d73-9723-4a3b017f2583_zps521fb57f.jpg"/></a>

After this excitement, we decided to get our sugar fix on.

<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1355_zpsce5d4a38.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1355_zpsce5d4a38.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1355_zpsce5d4a38.jpg"/></a>

Both plates were again pretty much the same.
All very yummy, although, I can now admit that I'm not a huge fan of Mickey waffles but I do love the pancakes. The fruit compotes were a really nice accompaniment.

I loved Chef Mickeys, but I was glad I had chosen such an early reservation for us dining as two adults, not that it made much difference but as we were leaving it seemed to be on the chaotic side of busy.
Meeting all the characters was just AMAZE and Donald Duck and Pluto were stand outs who really interacted well with us. I have a new found love of Donald Duck after this pixiedust:

Over all for Chef Mickeys we would give it a big thumbs up and 9/10.

From here we spent the morning in Animal Kingdom.
It was really warm so we each got one of these. I cant remember its name but I think it was some kind of berry slush.
Cold and refreshing, but if you are not overly hungry, one would do two people.
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1451_zps1b22679c.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1451_zps1b22679c.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1451_zps1b22679c.jpg"/></a>

Will continue with a trip to Japan in my next post :dance3:

Ahhh an evening in Japan..........
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1459_zps1e18915b.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1459_zps1e18915b.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1459_zps1e18915b.jpg"/></a>

We decided to start our Japanese themed evening with Sake cocktails
I had never had sake before this so I was very surprised to say I loved them! I asked the cast member which ones were most popular and she suggested the green apple and pineapple so that is exactly what we went for!
My favourite was the green apple, it was sweet but not too much so, it had a lovely sour tang to it. The pineapple was a little too sweet for my liking but still yummy.

We hadnt quite finished our cocktails when we made our way upstairs to Teppan Edo.
This was so awkard. The family we were sitting with were very.........eh.....well serious. It was 2 males and 1 female adults and teenage children. They kinda frowned upon us having cocktails, eh hello im on holidays?? Which was made worse by the fact that the server then proceeded to bring us and only us the drinks menu. We felt like such bad people for having a drink, and chose not to have one during the meal as a result.
Anyway, the two men were sitting opposite us and kept looking at us and almost sneering. Just not enjoyable. That sets the atmosphere for us.

We looked longingly around at the other tables with people clearly from different families laughing and joking and letting their guard down a little with the other people joining their table. We were just unlucky.

On to the food.
I had the, Nihonbashi - sirloin steak and chicken breast
Mum had the Filet Mignon. Both were served with, courgette, onions and mushrooms.
I however dont eat onions or mushrooms so I just had mine with courgette.
The cooking process was fun and had a little bit of a show element to it. Our chef was mainly directing the antics to myself and mum as it seemed to be just lost on the other family especially the two men.

The cooking process

My dish that came with onions even though I asked for none. No big deal I picked them out. The beef rice that was served with it was only ok. It seemed like it had been pre prepared and not fresh. Maybe prepared earlier that day.
The steak in both dishes was tender and seasoned well. The chicken was a little bland.
I will say if you are a big eater the portions here are quite small. We left a little hungry to be honest.
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/IMG_0817_zps36c68c6d.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/IMG_0817_zps36c68c6d.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo IMG_0817_zps36c68c6d.jpg"/></a>

On to desert. First the chocolate ginger cake for mum......meh. We werent too keen on this. Too much ginger.

<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/c790083a-4e34-4e0e-8161-706671ac7742_zpsd6101fcb.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/c790083a-4e34-4e0e-8161-706671ac7742_zpsd6101fcb.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo c790083a-4e34-4e0e-8161-706671ac7742_zpsd6101fcb.jpg"/></a>
Green tea cheesecake for me
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1467_zps6ae41dd6.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1467_zps6ae41dd6.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1467_zps6ae41dd6.jpg"/></a>

That bite is the only bit I ate from it. Not my cuppa tea. Cant describe how it tasted obviously a sweet version on green tea but stranger than that. For me it just didnt work.

What I will say is that the CM's were lovely and went out of their way to make sure we were ok for everything. They also noted mums birthday celebration and came out and sang to her and brought out a chefs hat with her name in Japanese. It was a really nice gesture.

Over all we felt this was our worst TS meal on both the atmosphere and food quality front.

We give it a 4.5/10.

We had a lazy morning this morning. Our plan of action throughout the holiday had been, up very early, break in the afternoon and back to the parks in the evening. Today, as we had booked the Fantasmic package at Mama Melrose's we did a morning by the pool followed by an afternoon/evening in the one of my newly found favourite parks, Hollywood Studios.

But first, a snack :laughing:white chocolate and macadamia nut cookie at Coronado Springs. They have a lovely selection of baked goods and desserts. These cookies became a staple in our Disney diet! YUM. Mum got the name of cookie monster before the trip was over.
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1497_zps33a00ed4.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1497_zps33a00ed4.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1497_zps33a00ed4.jpg"/></a>
These cookies were soooooooo good. Moist and a little crisp with chunks of white chocolate generously sprinkled throughout and plenty of macadamia nuts to match it! They were HUGE as in like bigger than my hand huge lol loads for two to share.

On to our fabulous day at DHS.
After doing all the rides and in need of some rest and relaxation we headed over to Mama Melrose's.
We walked in to check in and the place was so busy. Some people couldn't understand why they couldn't get a reservation and were being quite rude to the CM's about it. I was surprised to see people who didn't know you have to book well in advance. Though in 2008 I was one of those people for sure minus the rude attitude!
Anyway, we checked in and were seated within 5 minutes.
This restaurant is so different, its really homely and cosy or something. It has a very welcoming vibe.

We started our meal off with a wine flight. We both went for the Bella Italia.

<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1509_zps06a26e24.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1509_zps06a26e24.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1509_zps06a26e24.jpg"/></a>

I cant remember the names of the wines in this I know the white was a Pinot Grigio. This was such a good start to the meal. All the wines were very good. We both just had a moment of, oh my goodness we are actually here sitting back relaxing together after a lovely morning and preparing for an even nicer evening. Good mother daughter bonding time

On to the food! Soon after our server brought out the bread.
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1510_zps22571dd0.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1510_zps22571dd0.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1510_zps22571dd0.jpg"/></a>

<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1511_zps279ffdbe.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1511_zps279ffdbe.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1511_zps279ffdbe.jpg"/></a>

The olive oil had cracked black pepper and herbs in it. It was a nice change from butter. I had one roll with butter and the other I dipped in the olive oil-best of both worlds lol The bread was fresh and warm which was a plus :woohoo:

As this was the fantasmic package we got appetizers, mains and dessert.
So on to the starter:
I went for the caesar salad. It was ok. I would have preferred the lettuce a little bit crisper. The taste of the dressing/cheese was good, but was shadowed by the almost dead lettuce.
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1512_zps269af830.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1512_zps269af830.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1512_zps269af830.jpg"/></a>

Mum went for the mozzarella and tomatoes. This was really good. The tomatoes were fresh and juicy and the balsamic sauce was perfect with it.
Both of us tucked happily into this dish. Leaving the droopy salad to one side.

I went for the,
Oven-baked Chicken alla Parmigiana - with marinara sauce topped with melted mozzarella over spaghetti
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1514_zps88cd40bd.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1514_zps88cd40bd.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1514_zps88cd40bd.jpg"/></a>

And mum went for the Penne alla Vodka - with Pancetta and Sweet Onions finished with Tomato-Basil Sauce, Cream, Vodka, and Pecorino Romano
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1515_zpsf2db8cc6.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1515_zpsf2db8cc6.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1515_zpsf2db8cc6.jpg"/></a>

I had seen these dishes on the Disney food blog and we had to try them.
initially mum wasnt overly fond of hers, on later inspection this was because she liked the look of mine better. Let the dish swapping commence!

At the start of the main course, we were both rooting for the chicken parmesan. Raving about how rich and tasty it was.
It was very rich, getting mouthfuls of the cheese, sauce, crispy breaded chicken and spaghetti. Very delicious. It became too over powering, the more you ate the more you were like....woah hold on a second my tastebuds need a break.
This is where we swapped dishes.
The penne alla vodka was a welcome break from the the intense richness of the chicken parmesan.
It was much lighter. The creamy tomato sauce was so so so good!!! It had little bits of bacon in it as well which was just divine!
Both dishes were good but I dont think I could handle a whole chicken parmesan on my own it was very rich. My over all favourite in the end was the penne alla vodka and mum would agree even with her initial " yours looks better than mine".

Next we were brought out a dessert sampler.
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1516_zpsdc92fba2.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1516_zpsdc92fba2.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1516_zpsdc92fba2.jpg"/></a>

One was like a berry cheesecake, the other was tiramisu, another nutty cheesecake and then a light mousse filled chocolate tart.
I couldnt find a proper description for these.
Anyway, they were all very good. We nibbled away at each of them I know one had ricotta in it which I dont like at all but I cant remember which one...oops :rolleyes1
Over all they were enjoyable. I have heard horror stories about this dessert sampler though. This plate was perfect for two people, but if they brought it out to be one between three adults(as I have heard done) it wouldn't be enough to be honest.

Over all we loved our meal at Mama Melrose's and will definitely be making a return trip next year again for the fantasmic package.

We both give it 8/10.

We strolled from here to the Tune in lounge. I had heard to much about it I had to try it! Another gem!!! We just thought it was fab. Like stepping back in time. We got two seats and the bar and ordered these
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1517_zpsfcae013b.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1517_zpsfcae013b.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1517_zpsfcae013b.jpg"/></a>

Mum went for the Mowie Wowie which was the yellow one. I went for Grandma's Picnic Punch which was pink.
Both were similar in taste, very sweet neither had a major kick from it and were way to easy to drink :rotfl:
Aside from the cocktails, this place has a lovely atmosphere and we just chilled out enjoying our non regimental park day.
From here we wandered in the direction of the great movie ride and on our way there was a DJ/show starting for Monsters University homecoming:woohoo: How exciting!!! It was Limited time magic and coincided with the release of the movie.
They had a band called Scare supply on when we were there. It was really good fun!
And I saw these,
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1520_zpsb0c61f83.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1520_zpsb0c61f83.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1520_zpsb0c61f83.jpg"/></a>
Before you cart us of as complete alcoholics.......in my defence it was limited time magic I couldnt help myself and we ordered these.......
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1521_zps036c0208.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1521_zps036c0208.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1521_zps036c0208.jpg"/></a>
The green eye tea and the prickly pink.
Now these packed a punch! Woah were they strong! Both were fruity and sweet with the after tang of alcohol.
We sipped on these and sang and had a little dance along with the band. We stopped off and got some popcorn popcorn:: and found a place to sit, finish our drinks, eat popcorn and listen to the show. It was blissful.

And we havent even been to fantasmic yet!!!!

Thanks for another great update :rotfl2: We have never been to Mama Melroses and the food looks really good, so it might be one to try in the future :)

So we stumbled over to fantasmic.....:rotfl: I joke we weren't bad at all! Merry but not anything more.
One thing we were was peckish, I blame that green eye tea!!
So before we went to fantasmic we decided to get a counter service meal to take with us to nibble on. Something we could carry and eat without too much hassle.
I'll post the pics and then tell the story.......

<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1524_zpsca5e01a5.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1524_zpsca5e01a5.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1524_zpsca5e01a5.jpg"/></a>

<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1525_zps43e80c10.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1525_zps43e80c10.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1525_zps43e80c10.jpg"/></a>

<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1526_zpsac9445c3.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1526_zpsac9445c3.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1526_zpsac9445c3.jpg"/></a>

We stopped off for this at Catalina Eddies near the tower of terror fastpass distribution. There are a few counter services in a row and this the last one and is closest to the fastpass distribution.
So, we chose what we wanted, ordered it, popped it in a large bag for the short walk to the arena for fantasmic. Sounds ok right??

WRONG!!!!!! This was the WORST counter service we had the entire trip. That pizza in the first photo that just looks like normal run of the mill Disney pizza was so so so soggy underneath it was not edible. Dont even get me started on the caesar salad that came with it, eww it must have been the day for dead lettuce but this one had been dead quite some time before we got served it.
Not to mention the "Hot Italian Deli Sandwich" it was just gross. It had clearly been sitting out for a long time had an almost plastic feel to it.
Needless to say we didnt eat either of these two things.

The only non offending items were the crisps that came with the sandwich and the chocolate cake and carrot cake which were general Disney standard both fresh and moist with a dense frosting on the top.

My advice is to steer clear of here. We are by no means fussy but this was BAD. Now we may have just been unlucky with timing, however there really is no excuse for the level at which is was served.

Im not rating counter services on my 1-10 scale, however with this I make an exception. I give it 1/10 and the 1 is for the pre packaged cake.

We had at some point during the day we stopped off at the writers stop and got these snacks to take back to the room. I chose the carrot cake cookie and mum went for the peanut butter cookie.
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1530_zps6b26b889.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1530_zps6b26b889.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1530_zps6b26b889.jpg"/></a>

<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1533_zps389815b1.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1533_zps389815b1.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1533_zps389815b1.jpg"/></a>

The peanut butter cookie was very very very sweet. Too sweet for our liking but if you have a very sweet tooth this ones for you!

The carrot cake cookie.....What can I say.....:love: It was AMAZING! One of the best uses of a snack credit I have found. Its giant, enough for two adults easily(if you manage to tear yourself away from it that is)
Its moist with the hint of spice that makes a carrot cake unique, paired with the creamy "cream cheese" frosting. Now I don't like cream cheese so I will say that this frosting is more vanilla than cream cheese so for me it was just perfect! If you like carrot cake, pop this one on your too do list for next time your in the world you won't regret it :worship:

To conclude our busy day we had these cookies with 2 large cups of PJ tips tea back in the room.......we are such party animals :lmao:

I just finished reading all your report. I love it and now I am hungry lol!

After a day in HS we needed a change of scenery.
Scratch that, Mum wanted to go shopping, I really didnt want to leave my Disney bubble. Which lead to me being in a less than excited mood purely because I had to organise everything and was quite nervous to go off site with no car.

Anyway, we started our morning in the resort food court the Pepper Market. Its large and themed very well.
Its weird as it is a counter service, but not completely.
When you arrive, you are given a card with lots of empty squares on it to be stamped and they correspond to the different stations for example the omelette station etc.
You are brought to your table by your server and asked what you would like to drink.

So you go in, have a look around, decide what you want and from where, go to that station and order. They then stamp your card for you.
This bugged me to no end, keep in mind my mood wasnt the best so take this with a pinch of salt.
However, I really wanted to try the creme brulee french toast which came with a side of meat, but with this I couldnt get scrambled egg on the side without getting a stamp for a different station which would as far as I could tell be the cost of another meal if you get me?
At this point as we had the DDP I really didnt want to be paying OOP for more than was needed.
Also, I was aware that at the end of the meal, even though it was bascially counter service except for the one glass of juice we were given, we had to pay 10% gratuity. Which call me a cheapsake but I didnt want the price of that pushed up by me ordering an extra unnecessary meal.

That being said, I ordered the creme brulee french toast which came with a side of meat and then there was a choice of a fruit compote or the cinnamon apples.
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1534_zps5e78781d.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1534_zps5e78781d.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1534_zps5e78781d.jpg"/></a>
Mum went for the scrambled egg with breakfast potatos and bacon.
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1535_zps549b265f.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1535_zps549b265f.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1535_zps549b265f.jpg"/></a>

<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1536_zps07952583.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1536_zps07952583.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1536_zps07952583.jpg"/></a>

You can see the card in the background and this is the juice we were given.
My french toast was just that, french toast. I dont quite no where the creme brulee comes in. It was warm and fresh but nothing to write home about.
Mums breakfast was the same, she said the potatos were very dry.
Over all, I wouldnt rush back to pepper market. It seems to be somewhere in the middle between a regular counter service and WGPE in DTD. Its trying to be like WGPE by offering the service and "proper plates" however it isnt a patch on it.

After a very stressful day of shopping.......not even going to say how long it took us to get back to WDW....ok I will 3 frickin hours. NEVER AGAIN (without a car).

By this point we needed a drink. :rotfl2::rotfl:
We got back to the resort got dressed up as tonight was CRT :dance3::cheer2:pixiedust:
I have never been so excited for a dining reservation in my life!!
So we decided to kick off the evening with the complementary toast that we had been given at check in as we were celebrating. Did I mention how much I loved CS!! It was such a lovely resort suited the two of us perfectly.

We decided as it weather was fab to have this at the laguna bar, which is just outside the main building. As a reult we got it in plastic glasses but non the less "here to our fab mother daughter trip, oh and thanks Disney for the free champers"
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1541_zps12fc2d75.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1541_zps12fc2d75.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1541_zps12fc2d75.jpg"/></a>

Of course us being us, we couldnt stop at that!
<a href="http://s1290.photobucket.com/user/Bee8686/media/DSCN1542_zpsbf14cf6e.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i1290.photobucket.com/albums/b537/Bee8686/DSCN1542_zpsbf14cf6e.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCN1542_zpsbf14cf6e.jpg"/></a>
This was amazing, fruity, fresh and it didnt taste like it was loaded with alcohol but it sure was!
Now I cant remember the name of these as they were a type of Mojito from what I can remember. We got chatting to one of the older cast memebers here and he was just fab! And he told us to come back and he would mix us one of his mojitos which sounded amazing. We never did get back :sad2:

As you can imagine, at this point we were full of the joys of life heading to CRT.

(I will update CRT in my next post, photobucket has stopped working on me for some reason.....typical!!)
