Did she just pee in the grass?

Bathrooms were made for a reason! Why would anyone be allowed to pee outside, I just don't understand. Who cares if the floor gets wet because you just got out of a pool, towel up the water.. Simple!!

I am with you.... if there is a bathroom within walking distance...use it!!

Once when my DD was little(about 4) a neighbor was over with her little boy and he had to go and she pulled down his pants and let him go in my yard!!

I could not believe it!!!:scared1:
LOL I know that animals pee in my yard...but I do not see it.... I actually put disinfectant on the spot...:lmao:

We have an in ground pool. The closest bathroom to the pool is through the kitchen. Anyone who needs to relieve themselves is expected to use the bathroom. Yes, even the youngest relatives.

Swimming in a pool in a residential neighborhood, or a public pool, or a public beach is not the same as camping in the wilds, or being 40 acres away from the bathroom.

If it's too much trouble to have people using an indoor bathroom, then don't invite people to swim at in your pool. :confused3

I'm pretty astonished to learn that so many people find using a bathroom (including washing one's hands) to be so unimportant. :scared:

That being said, when dd was 4, we had some friends over and they were all playing. DD went inside but came back after a few minutes with different pants on. After some investigation, I found out she had "tried" to pee outside. WTH?!? It was funny, and it didn't work out so well for her!

Once when my kids were very little (DS was 4, DD was 3) they were playing out in the backyard. DS suddenly had to pee and remembered that Daddy had taught him this neat little trick of just peeing in the backyard. I looked outside to find DS standing there with his pants around his ankles "watering the grass". The funny part was that DD was standing right beside him, also with her pants around her ankles, trying to do the same thing with very bad results. She was so frustrated and just could NOT understand why it wasn't working like her brother! :lmao:

Gah! Boys are so lucky! Sometimes.

Just once I wanna write my name in the snow...;)

I had an ex-boyfriend who said, "My mom taught me to wash my hands after going to the bathroom. MY dad taught me not to pee on myself." Okay...maybe...but still...wash your hands. Ew! Not the reason we broke up, but it was a contributing factor! He was a "manly" man, and we were camping when he said this, but I hiked my butt over to the nearest restroom. I'm a city girl.

And this is why people think it's okay for their kid to pee in a bottle on line at WDW. :scared: :sad2:

I'm with the "this is totally nasty" group.

Ohhhh, I love this one!!!! :thumbsup2

How true......
Instead of teaching ones children to take care of their needs on a regular basis (like BEFORE getting in a long line, or swimming....) It is just plain laziness and nastiness... Same as 'grazing' leaving a trail of crumbs, wrappers, wads of gum, etc... (instead of like taking regular snack/meal breaks, sitting down, cleaning up, etc...)

It is like whatever is 'convenient'....
Just 'Let-er-fly'
Instant gratification....

Just pee, eat, whatever urge hits, whenever, wherever...
:sad2:

Of course, I know that kids, especially boys, have occasionally peed in their yards, etc... And, I am really not a prude....

But, to have guest over, and be relieving ones-self, like it is just too much to make the bathroom available. :sad2:

I am with the old saying...
"What, were you raised in a barn????"

HINT:

If I am at the pool, as I was many times at River Country at Orange Lake on the trip we just got back from, it is easy to go without trying to get that wet suit down and back up....

I just take the crotch and pull it way over to one side, over to the crease in the bikini line... works like a charm! :thumbsup2

This can be done in a one piece as well as a bikini.

I also make sure to go before I get soaking wet...
Then after a while... drip drying for a bit before heading to the restroom seems to help. ;)

I guess I just don't get it. We've had a pool for 20 years and in all that time with our own children and all of my nieces and nephews, not one child has ever been unable to get themselves to a bathroom in time. Sorry, I'm with the ewww, really gross and lazy faction.

I wonder how many times in those 20 years those kids pee'd on your pool? :rotfl:

Anyway I have 2 ds who regularly use the great outdoors as their toilet (for peeing) in the summer time. They have their own tree out of eyeshot and foot traffic of everyone. They also suffer from waiting to the very last minute its an emergency syndrome. so I'm lucky enough to even get them out of the pool before they go. I would rather them relieve themselves in our backyard then all over my kitchen floor :thumbsup2

If this is a real 'syndrome', then don't you think this is something that might need addressed.

Seems this situation is being made worse, and even enabled...

"Ohhh, it's okay... just enjoy yourself with abandon... then just do what ya gotta do..."

Unless they are 3-4 years old, or have medical issues...
I don't see this as a 'syndrome'.
I see this as simple self indulgence.

I don't see this as a 'prude' or even 'hygeine' issue as much as I see it as an issue of laziness, self indulgence, and disrespect.

Yeah, I'm sure in twenty years no kid ever peed in your pool...:rotfl:

I never made the claim that no child had ever peed in our pool. This thread is about parents actively teaching and encouraging their children to pee outside when a bathroom is nearby. I was responding to those who posted about their kids trying to run from the pool to the bathroom and having accidents on their floors as justification for this. That just did not happen in my house - never one accident on my wood floors and no one ever slipped. We always insisted the kids take frequent breaks (one about every 40 minutes) to use the bathroom, get a snack, and then rest out of the sun a bit. We always taught them to use the facilities and to then wash their hands carefully with soap, that this was proper hygiene.

Thanks for the uptight parental advice but my boys are just fine.

I have always thought that this sort of thing was the norm. It really shocks me to find out that so many people disagree. Actually, I still think it's the norm - I don't know anyone in real life who would find it anything but tasteless to pee outside in the yard when there are restrooms available.

I always laugh about the threads on here where people talk about seeing kids peeing all over the place at Disney World because it's such an alien concept to me - I just can't imagine anyone actually doing such a thing. After reading this thread I am starting to see why it happens so often at WDW. It's apparently okay to pee outside if there isn't a restroom conveniently located 2 feet away. :scared:

When we walked out of our room to go to the lobby at the Poly, we came around the corner of the our longhouse (Hawaii) and there was a boy (around 6-8yrs) going to the bathroom on the bushes and tree outside our 2nd floor CL room! :scared1: He was standing right there, pants down and going! And when he saw us he didn't stop, but he started jumping up and down, I assume to make it go faster :rotfl2: Our DS looked at us and said "that was way to much to share at Disneyworld"
:rotfl::lmao:
We never looked out our mock balcony sliding door the same for the next 5 days!!

My only concern with peeing on the lawn is that it's not great for the lawn.

I would have assumed you'd come down on this side of this, considering your DIS name. :rotfl: :lmao: (Just joking, please don't be offended).
