Did Sci-Fi Change Their Shakes?

We went to the Sci-Fi two weeks ago for lunch and ordered shakes. They weren't what I remembered. Basically they were just soft serve ice cream from a machine. Actually, my friend got a birthday sundae and the vanilla ice cream in it was the same as her vanilla shake. I haven't had the oreo one, but one was brought by our table and it was just a vanilla shake with oreo crumbs on the top. Have them changed them?

I didnt think so......They were very good ...The vanilla shake came in the silver holder and I poured it into my own cup....I could use one of those right now...
Hope they havent changed them since May......any other comments on this....????????

Can't help if they have been changed, but most places that do shakes will just use the soft serve ice cream and blend it...so maybe whoever was doing it was just being lazy and not blending it at all or enough.

It was literally straight out of the machine. You know when you get soft serve and it has the little point at the top from the machine? This "shake" had that.

We went a few weeks ago just for the shakes and ours did not come with stainless steel milkshake mixing cups (the kind used for real hand dipped ice cream). We received our shakes in a glass and they def tasted like soft-serve. I was also surprised at how fast they brought them out. I love milkshakes, but could barely drink this. Perhaps yet another cutback?

I think they did change the shakes as well. They weren't that good even as far back in May when I was there. Like they came out of the machine like the OP says.

The shake was the best thing from my meal July '09. I had been craving one since.

I just got back from eating there a couple weeks ago. I was disappointed at the time and thought it tasted like a frosty from Wendy's. I had assumed I had just built the shake up too much in my mind....glad to know it wasn't just me.

Exactly. This didn't even have the consistency/texture of ice cream. It tasted/looked like some kind of soft-serve or perhaps something different altogether because when mine began to melt it was a slimy concocted mess...where as real ice cream puddles.

Those shakes were the BEST thing about SciFi. I got a strawberry one in Dec. 09 that stayed icy cold throughout the entire meal and had delicious chunks of real strawberries in it. It was the best shake I'd ever had! Why did they ruin it?????

I knowww I want to cry reading about their changed shakes *sigh*
